It boils down to the words of a famous doctor on Star Trek, "Dam it Jim, I'm a Counsol not a PC".

Not really....It stop being a console when they launch PS4 Pro...

Now its time to open to hardware....medieval practices are not the future...

Your saying a ps4 pro isn't a console, it's a pc. Ok, how does one edit any of the files or add a third party program to augment (mod) a selected program? It is not programable in any way short or long except by Sony via patches or updates they deem nessasary.

Your second remark isn't true, it is rumored that Cain killed Able, zooming ahead 3303 years and a Thargoid has killed a human. Tell me whats changed, the past and present are equal. There is no such thing as the future, there is only now. Though one can compare today with yesterday, one cannot compare either with tomorrow. It doesn't exist except in ones imagination.

Yep it's still a console, and an ugly looking one at that! Gonna be a b*gger to dust :/

I haven't tried Elite Dangerous (yet) but War Thunder works fine with both the Hotas 4 and the DS4 combined. When I play aircraft I use mainly the Hotas with a few extra buttons on the DS4, and when I play tanks I use mainly the DS4 with a few extra buttons on the Hotas. It's actually pretty cool [smile]

Well I tried the X56 and it doesn't work, neither does the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X the one that say's it's for the PC/PS3.

Will have to wait to play now until I can afford to get one of the ones that Sony/Frontier actually support.

I hooked up the Thrustmaster TFRP Flight Rudder Pedals for PC & Playstation 4 that connect to the PS4 hotas.
No dice[hotas] I really hope these will be enabled in a future patch.

This hasn't been mentioned yet, but I think we should add "Keyboard" to the list. We know the keyboard works for sending text, etc, but we don't know if it works like on PC for actually controlling the ship. Any keyboard that works with PS4 (I just use a PC USB keyboard) should work the same in ED.

Out of curiosity, you folks playing on PC with HOTAS, do you find the keyboard useful, or do you find it easier just to do everything with the HOTAS and ignore the keyboard except for texting?
Yes keyboard was useful and i will miss keyboard key bindings on PS4. While i have not played Elite on PC for about 2 years I still used many commands on the Keyboard like Landing gear, Ship Lights, camera, open coms pannels, selecting views much more i don't remember.

Just tried my X55 as well and an old Cyborg Flight Stick and they don't work either.

The issue for me is that the Thrustmaster Hotas that is actually supported just doesn't have enough buttons on it, without having to use modifiers which is why I was hoping that either the Thrustmaster would work with a keyboard at the same time or that my X56 would work so that I can have all the required buttons mapped as the X56 has more than enough.

Thanks all, really useful info here. I have updated the first post.

So, the only joystick working properly is the official PS4 Thrustmaster? I seriously hoped for more support, say for the T.16000M FCS Hotas, given their previous statement:

“Will there be Joystick support for PS4™?
So far we have confirmed that Thrustmaster will be supported for Elite Dangerous on PS4™. Please keep an eye on our social media channels and forums for further information after release.

But sure, they support one Thrustmaster joystick. That much is true. No double dip from me though. :D

My x52 doesn't seem to be working either. I can't even remap it to he HOTAS.
That is depressing.

I was really hoping my X52 could be re purposed to play ELite on my Ps4. Hopefully a patch is released sooner rather than later.

Thanks for confirming tho....:(

The x52 won't even work on the Xbox as it's not an Xinput dvice.

There would have to be some kind of agreement inked between Sony and Logitech for them to be able to get their drivers signed for it. In other words, I predict that a snowball would have a better chance of surviving Hell than the x52 working on the PS4.

The only HOTAS I know that works is the T-Flight HOTAS 4 - it has a switch on it to convert it to PS4.

The subject has been brought up numerious times on various threads for the last 6 months. The play station 4 will only handle the hotas t-flight 4 and until such time in the future which I doublt will ever come the only one that will work. It's not a pc, one can not alter or modify it. The same might hold true for the new hotas designed for the xbox, it won't work on a ps4.

What's interesting is that I fired up War Thunder a moment ago and could bind controls to the X56, so to me it's not a case of the PS4 not supporting it, it's a case of Frontier not supporting it as I cannot see any other way of saying it because it works on one game on the ps4 but not on another.

Would really like to see what people think about that, as for those who want to try it War Thunder is free so you can simply download and install it, then connect you hotas etc to the ps4 and see if it's recognised but as it stand's the X56 works with the ps4 just not in Elite.
