PSVR support? PS4PRPO features?

If the PS4 version gets PSVR support, I'll scrap my Xbox One version and start from scratch on PS4.

I already want PSVR for Resident Evil 7 anyway. These will be 2 epic VR titles.

Like I said over here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...zons-for-PS4?p=4874265&viewfull=1#post4874265

We're looking into it, for sure, but we've not got anything to announce today. VR is something we care about though... what with ED being a flagship VR game.

Wait so are you guys launching on PS4 *without* PSVR support...? For reals?

Well, if so, I guess I kinda understand, but you better get it done quick, because I'm super tired of the glitchy, laggy XBOX ONE version and cannot wait to move over to the far superior PS4.

Now, I have been playing certain games with the PSVR, but honestly VR makes me ill. I think as cool as VR support would be on the PS4, and as much as I think it could handle it at a lower resolution, I could understand if you saved the PSVR version strictly for PS4 Pro (if that is allowed by Sony).

Quite probably that. If the non-Pro was really stripped down (like really terrible textures etc) to hit the min fps, and the Pro version was the "real" version, I wonder if that would get around their stipulation all Pro games must run on non-Pro too? Terrible from a marketing point of view though ;-)

Also if people haven't been keeping an eye on the PC VR section, a number of us playstation owners have gotten PSVR working on the PC. Functionally meaning you can play VR Elite with PSVR right now.

It's using TrinusPSVR: http://www.trinusvirtualreality.com/psvr/
It runs decently, my laptop is a Razer Blade 14 (i7 6700HQ, GTX 1060): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ73kFn2fVY

This is very much an unsupported hack, so the framerate and so on may get better if they improve the drivers, or if Sony ever releases official support.

As for the experience, I've only ever used the Rift DK2 and PSVR is frankly much much better. This is a hack, low spec laptop, console-VR, and positional tracking is only now being worked on, but worth having a go if you can.

From what I have read (I may be wrong here) all game must be able to run on the PS4 and the PS4pro. I haven't read anything that says to use the PSVR that it needs to run on both machines.

It maybe that to run PSVR you will need the PS4pro but it will still run on the PS4 without PSVR, getting around the stipulation of it needing to run on both machines.

Hey everyone! Just joined!
I'm definitely looking forward for some Elite greatness on my PS4Pro! And definitely would love it to have PSVR support, as the couple of experiences I've had so far (Infinite Warfare's Jackal Assault and SW Battlefront's X-Wing VR mission) have pretty much ruined space games on TV screen for good, for me... I'll definitely get Elite anyway, but having PSVR support would be amazing!!

Interesting. I think vr would need to run on both as all pro games must run on PS4 but that said the PS4 can't output 4K so essentially there's already a loop hole right?

Sony have made a big deal of the fact that at this stage in their console cycle that all games will work on both the PS4 and PS4Pro. PS4Pro will provide additional enhancements such as screen resolution or refresh rate.

I would be very surprised if they provided clear water between support for the two console models at this stage.

Yep, ED will be on both systems. I just don't think the PS4 is powerfull enough for ED on PSVR. The PS4 pro certainly is. Not sure what the rules are.
The only one I have seen is that games must run on both systems. The VR aspect I am not sure about.

I already have the xbox version, but if the PS4 version have the VR support, i'll buy it FOR SURE. ABSOLUTELY.

(FD, where is the ITALIAN LANGUAGE?? PLEASEEEEEEEEEE )

I don't think they have said anything about PS4 Pro features have they? Will it be just better frame rate? Will it be higher resolution? I am on the fence about PS4 Pro and currently just have a standard PS4.

I wonder how the PS4 version will stack up generally with Xbox and PC. Would love some actually news about PS4 ED. Its all very quiet.

Having just committed to purchasing a PSVR in stages - I already had the controllers from my PS3 days and have just bought a PS Camera this month and will be buying the PSVR from next month's pay packet, I really hope that I don't have to also buy a PS4Pro to be able to effectively use it with Elite.

The fact that Update 4.5 includes the option to unlock the additional power in the Pro for existing games shows the difference in power between the two consoles.
I just hope that Frontier are able to make a viable experience on the base model.
