Ah, my bad, the part I was thinking of was in a later post of yours.. apologies.

My biggest problem with Mobius, I think he does a magnificent job btw, is if for whatever reason he needs to leave ED is how will Frontier react.
If they ignore the problem then would many who can no longer play in the group leave the game.
Or would another Commander take over the reins.
Or would finally FD decide that the possibility of losing perhaps large numbers of the player-base galvanize them into taking the reins over themselves, although I see this is the most unlikely prospect.
The pve groups are definitely not a fad as some of the groups have been running since almost the start of the game.

Probably because they cant handle the forum rules I mean being able to actually have a conversation with out devolving to a teenager would gain them a lot of ground here.
Tbh mate most people stopped trying to be "appealing" ages ago.
The "grown up" Open/PvP advocates exist elsewhere now, namely Reddit. .
Nothing stopping you from playing cooperatively with other players in Open.
LOL having looked at some of the posts on reddit this has to be a contender for comedy post of the day!.
PS I totally support Open/PvP its a core option in the game for those who want it but grown up and reddit........ seriously?
It's not a fad. There's depth to the PvE game, where the PvP game is shallow and meaningless.
It can be fun to go head to head against a fellow human, but there's nothing to it. You either win, lose or draw. No marketable skill used, none gained.
At least in PvE, you can gain credits, rank, better ships/outfitting assist or destroy NPC major/minor factions, explore or just release some tension at a conflict zone. PvE will be here long after people give up on PvP.
For someone that's never PVP'd before, you seem to have an awful lot to say about it.
PvE groups; are they just a fad?
I was under the impression that the Mobius group was pruned once or twice, the first time before the EU/US split and again sometime later, in an attempt to free up slots by removing inactive accounts. One of the criteria for who made the cut was frequency of use, and last time of use, which Frontier obtained from their logs. I wonder how you're still a member, unless you were very fortunate with the timing of your one use.The total number of Mobius members is not representative of how many people play there.
I'm a member and I've only played in it once.
There are probably many more.
Unfortunately there's no other figure Mobius can give us, it's the only metric we have. Would be interesting to know what the 'active player in last x days' count was. I'm sure Mobius would like to know himself even.
And that is my point exactly. The players are choosing to use private groups in a manor that FD didn't foresee. And hence my OP; should FD reconsider.
We have the concept of “groups”. They can be private groups just of your friends or open groups (that form part of the game) based on the play styles people prefer, and the rules in each can be different. Players will begin in the group “All” but can change groups at will, though it will be possible to be banned from groups due to antisocial behaviour, and you will only meet others in that group.
