You know, I should ask my wife about all this because she's right about everything.
Was she right when she said you spend too much money on your bikes?

I wouldnt, if she is anything like mine she will you to turn it off and do something useful like moe the lawn, creosote the fence & shed or one of another chore on the long never ending list![]()
I wasn't consciously aware of twisting your words on your PvP definition but now that I reread it it seems I misread it the first time. My apologies for that.In case you failed to notice, not just in the post you replied to here, but in my several other posts on this thread and on others in this forum: I take no issue to PvP players who are capable of respecting other people's choices and preferences. I take issue with the PvP players who dictate that everyone must be a part of their content and the PvPers who claim to own open mode.
In my everyday life, I operate on the assumption that anyone around me intends to do me harm. I then allow other people to prove me wrong. Makes it harder to be surprised or disappointed. Cynical? probably. But it works.
My point on the stories is this: that many people can't possibly be all telling the same lie. the videos and screenshots pretty much CAN'T lie. I understand that not every PvP player is like that. However, I cannot afford to assume that any given player I meet isn't like that. Simply an unwise policy.
If the attitudes of groups and individuals similar to SDC are the minority, fine. So be it. However, I don't see other PvP players and groups outside of adle's armada bothering to condemn those actions. I take the silence as being tacit approval. If someone genuinely opposes those types of actions, then SAY something. If you don't speak up, how is anyone else supposed to know? No one here is psychic.
You are twisting my words on my PvP definition. I said that anyone who engages in combat with another player is a PvP player. I then qualified certain subgroups. I did not pass judgement on the overall group as a whole. This thread is about PvP players being allegedly unwelcome on the forums. Any specific subgroup was not specified. As such, all subgroups must be considered.
To use your analogy in the same why I used my definition: A lawyer is ANYONE who practices law. This includes mob lawyers and lawyers who exist to get criminals out of jail time.
Stop twisting my words. Seriously, don't do that.

Do you always have to have the last word?
Yes, consider that a challenge. How do you respond?
Stay silent and prove literally nothing because this is the internet?
or do you respond and prove me right?
No misquote either, just flipping your earlier post on you.

As to other groups condemning SDC: plenty have, especially around the time of their noob ganking cancer charity event. Do
keep in mind that:
a) PvP groups (as elaborated by the existence of this thread) don't tend to congregate on these forums, so reduced chances of hearing their voices here
b) Most groups prefer to use private channels, Discord and to a lesser extent INARA to communicate with one another when it comes to something as important as their relations towards one another. Individual members are left to comment their opinions in the more public places but not as a spokesperson for the group unless they actually hold that position.
and finally
c) It's not anyone's job to continually go around and try to fight the PvP public relations fires that a group like SDC starts. It's exhausting. Just ask Gluttony Fang and the legit pirates from The Code. Not to mention a bit on the pointless side; like apologising for what a neighbour's kid has done when really it's not that hard for Joe and Jane public to engage some critical thinking and realise that you cannot hold another person responsible for the actions of someone else.
Do PvEers for example come out en masse each and every time to condemn the more crappier actions and behaviours towards PvPers in their own ranks? Should we take the silence as tacit approval? In my opinion; of course not. It's just a game. People aren't here to work as psuedo-diplomats and nation leaders, they're here to get on with playing the way they want to to play and hopefully make some friends along the way.
BrilliantHehe good ol MS-Paint FTW
That was just so unbelievable ridiculous i literarly felt compelled to make fun of it
So: Behold, Crap Tier for everyone:
Also a shout out to Agony Aunt's new avatar. It's hypnotising and also oddly calming. Good old Dav Stott......

Me personally I hate all of them and have joined our Thargoid overlords as they fear not if their opponent is PvP or PvE, they don't even care if the player is in Open/Solo! Join the fairest faction of them all today!!
Which PvE'er actions would that be?
Or were you just trying to make an analogy to something?
Just a couple of pages ago people tried to draw the parallel between PvP and griefers. All griefers are PvPers.Which PvE'er actions would that be?

Because there's no such thing as generally on the forum. It's a bollox premise to start off with.Generally on the forum
...which we seem to have forgotten that this is what the whole thread was originally about
People (rightly) complain about these things because most are tedious, not because they are hard. You may not realize this, but there is a difference.
You can visit any forum, any forum, and post how you don't like the community there and you'll always get the same reaction. It's always the same mechanism. I believe Southpark did a season about it last year.
"You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar."
Not that I'm implying anyone's a fly. lol.![]()
Likewise I haven't seen that from anyone on this forum concerning PvEers so I guess we're back to my original statement of "nobody is innocent".Last time I checked, PvEers don't go around ganking people. If a PvEer makes an unfair comment on the forums here, or violates the forum rules and I happen to see it, then I take appropriate action. Usually point out their unfair comment, report the post, or do both. I can't possibly know what goes on on any groups private discord or INARA if I am not a member myself. Not looking for someone to act as a spokesperson. Not what I said. If a number of individuals condemn these actions in a verifiable way, then that is a consensus. I would happily accept that. I haven't seen that at all from anyone, save adle's armada.
Here's where you are wrong, both for the reason already stated above but in addition: there was actually thread about it at one point with screenshots of a CMDRs chat log at a station filled with abusive comments of the calibre of, "You stupid pro bro, pvp male anatomical part. No one wants your kind flying around here.".Yeah PvEers can be mean on the forums. So can everyone else. Unlike some portions of the PvP crowd, PvEers don't extend that malice to the game.
Just a couple of pages ago people tried to draw the parallel between PvP and griefers. All griefers are PvPers.
Ignoring that PvPers are not all griefers by a long shot. Which is the telling statistic.

I'm fly, but I don't like flies so that would make vinegar be my weapon of choice."You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar."

And the truth will set you free!Ahh well if southpark did a season on it I stand corrected
But you are right it was just a bit of a throwaway comment to point out that the thread has gone way off topic (I'm guilty as charged)
Likewise I haven't seen that from anyone on this forum concerning PvEers so I guess we're back to my original statement of "nobody is innocent".
PvEers don't go around ganking is factually incorrect - there's a little thing called the BGS which provides a form of indirect PvP via the tanking of minor faction influence. It's actually a much more insidious form of ganking/attacking to be honest because it can be done from the safety of Solo and PG where your opponent cannot attempt to stop you from continuing to do it. At least with direct PvP you can always escape it via Solo and PG or attempt to blow your opponent out of the sky.
So now we are back at my other statement, "each is as bad as the other."
Here's where you are wrong, both for the reason already stated above but in addition: there was actually thread about it at one point with screenshots of a CMDRs chat log at a station filled with abusive comments of the calibre of, "You stupid g pro bro, pvp male anatomical part. No one wants your kind flying around here.".
So there goes the theory that the only abusive actions in the game can only come from one part of the player base.
