Unfortunately he is not trying to be funny and even worse there are more people out there like him.
No wonders why this place falls to stupidity more and more.
So those of us who spent hours trading to get a Python and tricking it out to a high standard, bought a ship that was rushed and improperly powered/shielded and manoeuvrable because the developers working on the Python didn't know what they were doing. That is the only answer that fits your re-quoting of others claims that the ship was not intended for it's present role. Personally I would think the ship developers need to be re-educated then or the whiners claiming it should be nerfed are both to blame.
Not the poor so and so's who have spent many millions on the craft and are going to see it pretty much devalued to a laker 7. I guess you think they should just suck it up as they are so rich.

I'd like to see the python behave like in the original Elite, they tended to slowly roll and yaw around a bit whilst continuing in the same direction. And tried taking you out with missiles.
The python now behaves like a huge fighter, they have this wierd way of suddenly flipping 180 degrees to come back at you

I did these experiments some time ago but as I remember A grade shild recharges faster than C grade. And if you go lower class it recharges faster. I don't have Python or Clipper now and I'm lazy to buy is you have those you can try.

Recharge from fail is the same on E and A class as i observed. I have tested in on Python (i have A at now, i used D too).

I like Clipper more than Python if only it could land on outposts it would be ideal for missions.

Woohoo, just bought my Python late last night! I've been working towards it since game release. My dream ship. Of course, my time is precious as I have a job and three kids. All those hours in a terrible trade bus with slow turning and no guns, finally I am in my Lambourghini. So glad I spend so long grinding trade to ... oh wait no. Surely not. <facepalm> Lambourghini turns into a Camper Van.
Actually this is a very good point. If you are going to push me into the conda then please give me a choice of weapons. Right now its very limited for C3 slots.
The Python is not a battle ship. It is a trade ship. Its role is to be able to do bulk trading in relatively dangerous regions without fighter escort. It is not supposed to dominated conflict zones. So that is why it is being 'nerfed': it has specs that upset the roster of ships they have planned. FD realises they dropped the ball here and they are fixing it. A dedicated fighter should be able to take on a Python. It will be harder than a T9, but it is possible. There currently is no dedicated battleship in the game, so keep on earning money and just wait for them to be added.

The Python WILL BE adjusted, whether you like it or not. It does not matter, again, it does not matter, at all, what you say here. The changes will be implemented and AFTER that it will still be monitored and adjusted accordingly.
There is no reason for you at all to keep annoying the hell out of people with your demands, because they will not be heard by anyone.

In Clipper you can pursuit anybody and leave battle are when is too hot. You decide when you are in or out.
In python you can try to jump out only. Sometimes it is not possible to do it fast (mass lock)

This type of nerf, by the way, is exactly why I hate online games. In a single player game, you don't get this kind of messing people around. And you don't get griefers and exploiters who fire a missile then dock, etc. etc. Let me enjoy Solo Elite! You can have a separate version of the game where all ships are in a huge rock paper scissors loop regardless of cost if you like?
