Ships Python Owners' Thread

I have two Pythons now. One configured for those 120-180T elite missions that pay out 4-6 million per, and another general runabout that I use for anything besides cargo missions.

It's my favorite ship. :)

This is one of my Pythons (have three on main and one on alt).
Use as versatile mission runner (cargo, retrieval, ground, piracy, combat) and BGS worker

Name: Flipper and obviously using the appropriate ship kit

I arrived at Colonia a couple of weeks ago, in an Asp Scout. Left my main ships back in the bubble and wasn't going to spend 350m or whatever it was shipping them out. So I bought a Python, kitted it out as an armed trader. Absolutely loved it. Made good coin, bought a T9 with the proceeds and completed Elite Trader. Then hopped back into the Python. Love it as an armed trader/mission runner, it really suits the setup up at Colonia. Am currently back in the bubble, picking up a Clipper, but already looking forward to getting back into the Python when back in Colonia. Can't believe that I have been playing the game for so long (I have 26 ships, including completed Anaconda and T9) yet have only just tried the Python. Great ship. And jumping 38ly or so as an armed trader hauling over 200T. Amazing.

Just bought one of these myself recently, after finally getting back from a few months exploring. Makes an excellent miner (carries literally every tool). Just made 92mil from a haul of 80 low temp diamonds. Not gone too crazy on engineering, as I want to save materials for my combat ships (I'm working up through a few tiers as I learn how to properly fight), but I could easily see where I could make a few improvements.

My build

So I've been playing with the python as my main multipurpose ship but kind of half engineered and not great at anything.

I have decided she needs an overhaul. Goals of the overhaul in order:
  • 40 LY jump range or close to it. Main ship needs to be able get me there in the limited time I play.
  • PVE Combat capable. Not a haz rez beast but capable of making a PVE pirate regret his life decisions and should win 1v1. PVP gankers will be run from. Imo only full combat builds should fight humans.
  • have good cargo space and collection limpets for whatever.
  • something fun, something different. No reason to do the same old thing on every ship.

Here is the current design I am looking at

Never played with a PA, so thought this is a good time to try one out.

Greetings Commanders.. This is a Python build I just used to get Liz Ryder active.. Completely not the build it WILL be... I will have an update once That happens. More of a joke build, But it worked. :)

Recently put up an OP for our best 'Python' screenshots....

I have a question to all of you python owner, I'm quite new to the game and everywhere I go on the internet (wiki, app, ect) they all say that the python is a medium size ship (using medium size landing pad) but they're all very old topics and at the shipyard I clearly read that the python is using "large landing pad", so before I buy it I want to be sure, what is the real size of that ship? Did they change his landing pad size?

Python is a medium sized ship, and fits on a medium sized pad.
