R.I.P Michael Brookes

Oh man. I seldom visit the forums and have only recently started playing again, hence I missed the sad news from June.

RIP Michael. I'll remember with fondness your excitement and passion for Elite, and your community engagement. Travel the stars and gaze in wonder good sir.

I am also horribly out of the loop with all things ED, so just heard this news.

So sad, obviously send love n hugs to everyone who was close to Michael. He was OG Elite Dangerous, the man with the plan and very much part of bringing us the game to begin with, and for that alone I will always be eternally grateful.

Sleep well among the stars MB.x

Dipped in and out of the game over the last 18 months and totally missed this. What a terrible thing. RIP Michael. Like many others I shook his hand and thanked him for his vision at the launch event. Sad days. And thank you Drew for the wonderful 'tour' and mass jump. I'll admit my eyes leaked at that point.

I didn't see this until now, either, and am sorry I missed it. Michael Brookes to me was one of the most important people at Elite because he was critical in helping make the stellar database as astronomically correct as possible. He graciously replied in detail to a number of questions about which databases were used, coordinate systems, etc. It made the Elite galaxy feel even more real to an amateur astronomer like myself. RIP CMDR O7.
