RegulatedNoise - trade tool with zxctypo's best-in-class OCR (EliteOCRReader as-was)

agree for station names - system names should be stable these days if coming from the logs (notwithstanding mrmp's post above)

Actually, now I've come to code it, it doesn't make sense to use the "edit commodity" window to change the system or station names, those fields should probably be read-only. It would be better to use the Rename Station function on the Station tab instead because there's bound to be a bunch of commodities with the same error and you can do them all in one go that way. Maybe I should relabel it as "Rename / Merge Stations", because it's not necessarily obvious that you can use it to merge "Something Dock" and "Something Oock" into a single set of "Something Dock" data.

List of commodity names will appear in the edit commodity window at the next release though, that's coded and working nicely.

Yes it's an issues , would like the option that RN saves user imports screenshots & EDDN data collected into separate CSVs So while your using RN and running EDDN ,you can use the data or not, but if its all too much bad data, just reload YOUR save.

I could expand the screenshot name field into a "data source" field. That way we know where the data came from, and can easily add a checkbox to say do/don't show EDDN data. Also a "delete all my EDDN-sourced data" button. Much the same thing (but a lot easier to code) I think...?

in the Price Analysis tabs, so you can edit the data there, yes, and not before import?

Ummm... just pointing , go that way lol , how , is up to you :)

But given I saw this error in prices after the import , the first thing I did was try and click on the screenshot to check , but it was gone.

So even after import , if the line is highlighted , then the corresponding screenshot is saved

Having users input data saved separately, would offest any complaints of outside data sources corrupting their data

This is a pretty awesome app. Working great for me so far, though I've only tested two systems.

One thing I would love is the ability to export a .prices file for use with TradeDangrous. That would make this thing the king of all trading assistants IMO.

Anyway, great work so far! THANKS!

Also, I think I found a bug:

Toggling the "Include extended info in CSV..." option and then exporting using the "Save Unified CSV" button exports an empty CSV file with just the header

Code:
[TABLE="width: 384"]
[TR]
[TD="colspan: 6"]System;Station;Commodity;Sell;Buy;Demand;;Supply;;Date;[/TD]
[/TR]
[/TABLE]

Toggling it back on and then exporting creates my correct file again.

These two images show a missing digit on Palladium , the screenshot is poor but it's not the one I used , for import in RN , just a bad copy.

New to the game and the forum, but I just started using this tool today and was running into a similar problem. It seems to chop off the last digit of several commodity prices. I tried recalibrating (using Windows Magnifier to get super-extra precise) but it's still doing it. It's kind of annoying because I can immediately tell that "non-lemnal weaooos" is "non-lethal weapons" and that "Dai.*i*on Cateway" is "Dalton Gateway", but scrolling through prices it doesn't automatically jump out that 930 credits should be 9300. If I can get it to work, though, this will be a huge help.

It occured to me, however, that I did change my HUD colors. Is the OCR more reliable with the default orange?

I have the default hud colour (Orange) , screen resolution is , is 1920 x 1080 in game & desktop

Hm. I just calibrated again and reset my HUD colors, and one or both of those seems to have sorted it out for me. I'm running at 1280x1024, though.

Updated to 1.5 with automatic station name fixing (thanks to Maddavo), the ability to purge all EDDN data, and the long-awaited ability to pause and edit the OCR data before importing it...

Cool , need to have the ability to delete/rename data that's incorrect has these show EDIT , maybe to hard ,as these commodities are linked

So back to the idea that whatever I'm doing I get the option to keep (save) while been able to delete all other data Edit thinking in progress lol , Given its a database , not probable, So how to get rid of this data ? Mean deleting the Station name and all its linked too ?

Ah! an Idea , so you spot an error , Given your station name fix have a commodities FIX which check to see if there's a blank lines or like the images just bad names, then you or anyone else has the ability to delete that station name, which mean the database is purged by players entering bad data, whether on purpose or by mistake .... last Edit .

Thankyou :)

I think these screenshots are all from the "All Commodities" tab - you're right, you can't edit or delete them there at the moment. As a workaround, you can find the same bits of broken data on the Station or Commodity tabs, and you can edit or delete them there. In the meantime I'll add edit/delete on the all-commodities tab to the list :)

Apologies if this is already covered upthread, but what's the best way to go about updating to the new version? Should I just copy over my config and autosave files?

Thanks alot for this great tool! The one difficulty I have with it is that it is not easy to see recognition errors from bad calibration because it shows the csv instead of a table. Had one digit less and first noticed it when the best route went haywire :p

I love that this works with an offline database and hope it stays that way (with optional upload).

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but how come RN is posting to EDDN as test schema data? Is the output not considered 'ready for primetime'?

Code:
{'header': {'softwareVersion': 'v1.5', 'gatewayTimestamp': '2015-01-10T06:20:26.666781', 'softwareName': 'RegulatedNoise', 'uploaderID': '14ae213f-91e4-43fd-ba60-c574b2c4352d'}, '$schemaRef': 'http://schemas.elite-markets.net/eddn/commodity/1/test', 'message': {'buyPrice': 129, 'timestamp': '2015-01-10T14:14:00', 'stationStock': 294030, 'systemName': 'Shinrarta Dezhra', 'stationName': 'Jameson Memorial', 'demand': 0, 'sellPrice': 119, 'itemName': 'Synthetic Meat'}}

If the data is considered ready for use, it should be JSON schema of http://schemas.elite-markets.net/eddn/commodity/1

For all my releases, you can just unzip the latest release on top of the old one - all four config/autosave files (autosave, commander's log, calibration, settings) remain valid when upgrading - unless I specifically label a release otherwise. Funny that I deliberately coded it this way but never thought to mention it before :)

I'll muse on that one, I do see what you mean...

It has to, that's the way in which it supports how I (personally) play the game, and why I set out to write it originally - because it has a different spin to (say) EliteOCR. No point exactly-duplicating seeeebek's work!
