RegulatedNoise - trade tool with zxctypo's best-in-class OCR (EliteOCRReader as-was)

Hm, I will see what I can do.

I don't have changed anything with the station recognition in the last versions (thinking so)
but maybe you've issues with stationnames that are not in the "old" data files (elite.json / station.csv).
I've read that some stationnames have changed after the last ED updates. Maybe there's the connection ?
A possibility ?
Which was the last version where the recognition of the stations was good ?

on the other hand:
I'm currently working on the 007 - it's base data comes direct from the EDDB data (they get daily updates).
If the issue comes due to wrong / no longer existing station names so it should be better then if the correct
names are in those new datafiles.

The one before the 006 one worked. And yes some stations has changed i think. Is it possible to get that file updated?

The elite.json is from StarChart, you can download the latest with this link: http://starchart.club/elite.json
The station.csv is from TradeDangerous, you can grab the latest from here: https://bitbucket.org/kfsone/tradedangerous/src/c1fbc159e66e50d130d1bc4ae97e319175acd554/data/?at=master

Check the links from first quote. There are the latest of them.

I hope I can pre-release a the 007 today. Maybe you can check it for this problem ?

Hm, there wasn't a release when thought you test it !
What did you test ?!? :D

But NOW (5 minutes ago) the is the 007 Prerelease is gone online.

https://github.com/Duke-Jones/RegulatedNoise/releases

many changes since 006 :

Code:
1.84_0.07_4 (prerelease)
   * comboboxes (station/system) can be sorted by
      - station only
      - system and station
      - distance
      - additional can "n" last visited stations shown on top of the list
   * internal structure is completed for considering the "size of landingpads",
"distances of station to stars" and other data based on EDDB
   * more settings are saved when closing the application
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.84_0.07_3
   * fixed a error in the new Milkyway-class
   * locations of the systems are saved in a quick cache
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.84_0.07_2
   * added support for EDDB data (systems/stations/commodities)
   * implemented a new internal structure for managing the system and station data
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.84_0.07_1
   * find the path to the ED game directoy (first start) even if it's no standard path

Ye it was tested with the previous release ie not 007.

@iAmLegion:

If you could do the test with the 007 prerelease and send me the generated dump file (you must say no to ignore) please ?
I hope I can fix this issue before I release the final 007.

thanx :)

Hi Duke.
Thanks for the 0.08 release. Appreciate the work you put into this.
Some good stuff in there, especially not refreshing list to first alphanumeric station, and sort options for entry order.
I have one issue though, 'Best Round Trip' - the 'take distance into account' checkbox does not work, no X appears.
I find that useful as it picks up best in-system trades.
Has anyone any ideas what might be wrong. please?

Yes, I've noticed that issue, too.
Sorry for this. You can change this at the moment only if you are edit the "RegulatedNoiseSettings" file
with a editor (notepad) and change the value manually to true or false.

It's fixed in the next release but before I have to finish a discussion with the OCR part of RN ;-)

with the 1.2 release I have noticed it is not picking up the new commodity Painite. Can it be added ??

Update - after two or three tries it eventually added it.

Ok - change
<PerLightYearRoundTrip>false</PerLightYearRoundTrip>
to
<PerLightYearRoundTrip>true</PerLightYearRoundTrip>
Done.
Restart.
It works, it works, ah-hahahaha!!

The original 1.84 takes the whole commodity list as acceptable base. If you confirm a
new commodity once it is generally included.

The DJ-Versions have a fixed commodity base. If you confirm a unknown comodity
you will asked to add this as a new commodity. So it's improbable(impossible) that unwanted
writing/OCR errors are resulting in wrong commodity names in your data base.

I released DJ_009.

Hopefully awaiting a explicit improvement for the OCR functionality.

(and some other minor changes)

Duke

Would like to thank you for your continued support of RN, as the other DEV's are MIA ,( last few months ) With the development of Trading dangerous front end, BPC LCD support & the in game Trade Computer Extension that uses Excel, so restricted
RN still has benefits over all , the web server function , is one of those benefits, the ability to access trades, without alt tabbing, along side Duke OCR corrections improvements to RN data collection means RN is fast & reliable. I posed the question to Duke , about RN having TCE style in game support, yes it is possible, was the answer, which is great news, but Duke been the only DEV working on RN at the moment, is focused at building up the basic functionality and reliability first , so RN does all we the players need or could ever want...

Watch this space ..

GTX 980

Just upgrade my Card to GTX 980 so when I used NVIDIA GeForce Experience , it optimized ED game to a 2715x1527 DSR , My monitor is a ASUS VG278HE (1920x1080@144Hz) do i need to re-calibrate RN I'll soon find out but I though I asked about any other details I was in full windowless mode ( whatever it's called), now GeForce Experience has set it too full screen I'm coming from ATI this is my first NVIDIA card ever !

Update

Tried to calibrate in game , and set game back too windowless mode , but just got weird readings , when I use settings , to check with filter test , told me my resolutions don't match , so its the DSR thing, any solutions

Very Many Thanks, Duke, for all your hard work.
New version is a strong improvement.
OCR almost completely error free - had only 1 error (IVL for SILVER) in 14 station commodity reads.
Additional options and range checking in Edit Data a real help (still won't trust auto-import. Far too many errurs (;)) from other commanders via EDDN).
Might be looking in wrong place but couldn't find an in-application donate button!

Hi Sutex, I have used NVidia cards for a long time. Don't like the Nvidia GeForce Experience over-control-by-manufacturer.
I have twin GTX780Ti cards running on a Dino-built PC with Intel i7-3970X CPU @ 3.50GHz (no overclocking).
Single Benq xl2420t monitor, with a LG 28" TV (for RN and Voice Attack - saves alt-tabbing), 1920x1080 @ 144Hz native resolution.
So, ED runs in windowless mode.
I have had no problems with calibration, but for a while ran ED on a Samsung 48" TV :D! and RN got upset when I went back to the Benq, so needed re-calibration (but that was version 1.07, I think. Recalibration had no problems.
Not sure if any help to you, but lets you know that there should be no problem with Nvidia cards.

@Hobson's Choice
Not sure if any help to you, but lets you know that there should be no problem with Nvidia cards

So the DSR , isn't the problem then ? , Did the recalibrate , but RN still freaked out , out of place OCR readings
