This may have been answered in a previous post, but couldn't find it. I'm getting the following error every time I try to run OCR:

Is this a known issue? BTW, this program is awesome!!

Dear creator of this software ... Im under impression, Youre trully dedicated to ED and foremost Youre trully tallented and of course skilled person.

WOW ... thats all I can say and was saying first glancing at Your screeenshots.

Respect.

PS: I may suggest dev team taking some notes here maybie, but im sure they know what they can improve over their in game thing.

Get the same error

Hmm... is there the TCE.cer file in the TCE folder missing? You can add the certificate manually via doubleclick on TCE.cer > Install Certificate. It should be added into the following areas: TrustedPublisher, TrustedRoot and Intermediate. After installation please check the following: Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Content Tab > Certificates

There should be a entry for TCE in TrustedPublisher, TrustedRoot and Intermediate.

Please check, if you installed EliteOCR correctly into the TCE folder structure.

Eventure, this is great. I have it working now since your last update. I would very much like to donate to you for this hard work. Please set up a donation page :)

I've just found this yesterday and really want it to work for me but I am having some issues, first off I am running Windows 8.1 and When I try to fill anything in on the "add star system" I can't get a save button, the install path is..

Is this the correct place for it? I have set up the correct paths in the intial set up.

I am getting the error shown in the next pic when I click Stations on the Database menu....

..and this is the error....

Any ideas what or where I have gone wrong and how to fix it? It looks incredible if I could just get it to work.

I'll let Eventure answer about the error.

As for the install path here is what was said a few posts ago :

From 1st post:

HOW TO INSTALL:
Extract or install TCE wherever you want. ...

Sorry for your hassles, but its the first thing mentioned in installation instructions ;)

Please do not install it deep into the installation of Elite, because every update FD checks, if there are unwanted files, that dont have to be there. All unwanted files are deleted. Thats not a problem of TCE. My installation of TCE resides in D:\Elite Dangerous\TCE. All fine here. My suggestion is to install TCE, like any other software, in a root folder of a drive. I make a note at the main page.

Hi,

I've managed to get it running on excel 2007 sp3. Certificate was initially installed on only one section, i think it was trusted root. So had to manually install on all three sections as mentioned by eventure (trusted publisher and intermediate cert. Thereafter tce can be launched with the "only digitallly-signed macro" option.

Anyway I would like to ask what should I key in the system body box? Is it the planet where the starport is located? For example, if the starport is located at the 1st planet nearest to the star, I should key '1'?

And is it possible to delete the station data from the database? I had unknowingly added a couple of entries of the same starport but I am unable to delete the duplicate entries.

With some refinements, this handy utility can be a great tool for traders (commodity data), explorers (shiplog data), pirates (blackmarket location), etc basically for everyone.

@Eventure .... I <3 <3 <3 You.

I found that tools has given me all the infromation at my finger tips without switch between apps.

Thankyou Thankyou. :D

Due to several bugs in TCE, I don't use it for regularly work. I'm using RegulatedNoise and EliteOCR as my "working" horse. Despite that, I store the OCRed data in a folder for further use in TCE. I would like to import these .csv-files into TCE. Is it possible that you implement an import routine? It seems too me not a hard work to code, cuz you can use the procedures for reading the .csv-files you already read from EliteOcr. The necessary station data could be added at a later stage, when the starsystem/station is visited. Or is the station data vital for the commodity data?

Thanks for reporting. Will be fixed next update.
When arriving at an unrecorded star system, you have to add it to your database via Database > Stars. The star system name wll be automatically added into the appropriate field. Your task is now to enter the distances to the four reference star systems (Sol, Wyrd, Vega and Loga), that are displayed. Feel free to change these, if you like. Open the galaxy map of ED and select Navigation and type the first system (Sol) into the search box. The galaxy map jumps to the star system and displays the distance next to it. Type this value into the distance field next to the selected star sýstem of the Star System panel of TCE and press enter. Repeat this until all distance fields have their corresponding values. Now you will see a SAVE button next to the HIDE button. Click it and the new star system is stored into your database.

The system body number is an internal value of ED for the star system you are in. When adding a new station, this value comes from ED (out of the NetLog). Dont change it. Its a marker to find the right station for your position ingame.

You cant delete entries of your database atm, my proposal to you is to modifiy the duplicates to the new station, you want to record. Important is, that you transfer the correct body number from your position (like "Sol 23", enter "23" to the body number) to the new station.

Or is the station data vital for the commodity data?

It is, because each commodity gets an ID of the station, to which it belongs. So without station data, you cant add commodity prices.

If you want it absolutely, i will give you the opportunity in TCE via the Options panel.

Is it possible to completely hide/show the TCE UI using a hotkey?

I currently use Control->Hide to minimise it when not docked but every once in a while my mouse ends up over the Control button in combat and if I am shooting at the same time it can steal focus. It isn't usually a problem but I had a rather scary moment during a fight last night where it happened just as I was trying to avoid a barrage from 2 ships and... didn't.

My guess it that it isn't possible if TCE/Excel doesn't have focus but I thought I would ask. I can manually exit/reload if that is the only way.

The Station data is part of the filename and data covered in the file as EliteOCR provides it: Starsystem-stationname-aquired-time-and-date. So extracting the basic data out of the filename and given data should be no problem. Adding of the other data TCE is asking for (e.g. marketplace, blackmarket, jurisdiction, type of station, etc.) could be entered, when the system is visited later on.

I tried this and got as far as having entered all the data, I then got a save box but on clicking the whole lot failed again with a different runtime error.

Seems I can load it up and it looks great overlaid but as soon as I try to do ANYTHING with it it will fail with a runtime error of one kind or another.

:(

What i can offer you atm is to unhide excel (Click on TCE label topleft), press Winkey + M to send excel to taskbar. I will check, how to make this easier.

You first report was good, i fixed the problem. Please give me an equal for the second error. Or reinstall TCE in case of database error and try it again.

At home now. The filename EliteOCR gives the .csv-files looks like:

"HIP 114709.Nakamura Station.2015-02-19T23.19.37.csv"

seems, that there is all info included, that is needed for import...
