Abandoned [RELEASE] Trade Computer Extension

I had something odd happen last night while using The Extension. The system I entered had eight stations in it. I landed at the first one and went to "add Unregistered station" listing . The drop down had six names of stations in it but only one was correct/matched stations that were in the system. Five other station names were incorrect.
I've never seen that before. Did an update in ED. change the station names? Anyone else seen incorrect station names in the drop down list?

Yes there have been updates for Station names in 1.1. 1.2 also changed at least one to Leonard Nimoy station.

Yes there are. 80 is duplicated with 4 PLATINUM's and then PAINITE IS No 84

Ans there are 4 platinums in the Wares List

Please use a backup, before you added a commodity, with 80 goods in the table.

Can you tell me, in what star system your are in case of the issue?

Please open the TCE.mdb and check the "Goods" table. Are there more than 81 entries? How it looks from entry 80 on?

I deleted 3 duplicate entries of Platinum, the last 3. Which has stopped the crash. But now all the Commodities have the wrong prices. Which means I've affected the order by deleting 2 entries. I backed up my db so I can try different options to find one that works for me.

Any other suggestions?

I wouldn't mind keeping these profits though :D

OK, I'll try that, my backup from yesterday is the one that seems to have got corrupted.

I've used a backed up db from two days ago.

It had 80 commodities

No duplicate Platinum

Loaded up game and TCE and added PAINITE and checked it had been added.

OCR scanned Minerals area and same problem with BAUXITE having Sell price of PAINITE

PAINITE.png

I've also scanned the Minerals section and not had PAINITE on the screen so the other commodities are updated correctly, this is a work around for now. :D

I get a crash every time I try to add Painite to the Wares database.

I get a dialog box titled -2147417848 with caption Method 'Value' of object 'Range' failed.

Just an Ok button, no debug option.

Checking the Goods Table in Access, there remains 80 items.

Did you use the beta3 update?

Using it. I might have found a problem with unregistered stations too...just checking I'm not doing something wrong

Getting a bug Run-time error 13 type mismatch when try to save commodity data for first time of unregistered station, after having just saved filling in data for station. It does though appear to save the data though.

I can confirm this as well.

I've upgraded to beta 3 but still get this error that I had with beta 2

Using Beta 3, interestingly, I also have a pain with Painite, but it added to the wares database OK, including the average price. When I did an OCR scan, it picked up the price as being for Bauxite. No worries, think I, and I tried to manually cut the "bauxite" price, and pasted it into the "painite" field. When I clicked on Save, I encountered a Subscript out of range error.

Market SS attached:

Gorbatko Enterprise in FS 34

I tried to skip over the offending code in teh macro, but encountered a similar subscript out of range error a couple more times, so I just killed the macro.

I hope this hasn't corrupted my database....

(checked)

Database seems fine... Interestingly, the manually entered price for Painite is listed. I was hoping to be able to pinpoint the first line of code that hit the error but it seems I can't now. :(

There's a problem with OCR scanning and PINITE once you've successfully added it to the wares db.

After that scan as normal, then manually change BAUXITE and PINITIE Sell values and it works.

Update (V1.37 beta 4) released:
- New save routine for adding wares (10 times faster)
- New delete button at the Station Database panel. When selecting an unregistered station to add, a button with a red cross appears next to the name of the station. Click it to delete an unregistered station, in case of wrong/false names or doubles.

Note: The Bauxite issue is a EliteOCR problem. We have to wait for an update of it, that fixes the issue.

My database seems to have a duplicate Platinum. I also added Painite to my DB yesterday (Beta 2) with no error messages, yet today (Beta 3), the entry was missing and I had to re-enter it. I'll try Beta 4, as it was released recently enough that I already have E:D and TCE running.

Also having issues with Bauxite/Painite, but figured it was the OCR side of things.

Since I can't edit my posts, I guess I'm double posting, sorry for that...

There is a workaround for the Bauxite/Painite issue. It is roughly described in the Elite OCR thread, post #1440 (seems I can't put in links yet, either...)

Basically you add Painite via the commodity editor in EliteOCR

Menu at the top left - Settings
Commodity Editor
- Bottom left - Add Commodity

PAINITE is the same in English and french and is PAINIT in German (Deutsch)

If you want PAINITE to be in the minerals category and not listed as an unknown commodity type
you have to add it into EliteOCR\bin\plugins\TD_Export\TD_Export.py as a mineral.

- Make a backup copy of TD_Export.py

- Open TD_Export.py with notepad

- add this line in alphabetical order (between NON-LETHAL WEAPONS and PALLADIUM) :

self.mapOCR2TD["PAINITE"] = [ "Painite", "Minerals" ]

- Save, done :)

Anyone else now getting an Error 9, Subscript Out of Range when TCE attempts to write to the DB? Or just after it loads? 1.37b4 here.

Win7 Ultimate x64, Office 2010.

Edit: Also getting it when saving commodities data with 1.37b3.

Did you install Microsoft's Data Connectivity Components as stated under Pre-Requisite on the first post of this tread ???

On first start after every update

I've been wanting to report this for a while but I've never paid close enough attention to the process before.

After every TCE upgrade, on first start after replacing TCE.xml

Excel starts but I get a yellow bar at the top and I have to click on Enable Editing to continue.

When I do that, I see TCE start multiple times and so I get error 91.

I just have to close all instance of Excel and make sure that there is no Excel background process still running in the task manager.

Then I can start TCE again and it runs fine.

Until the next update.

I was really carefull this time and made sure I had just restarted my computer,
Only started TCE once and only clicked once on Enable Editing.
And I did get this error.

It's not a big deal but if it can't be fixed it should at least be mentioned in the manual so that people know to expect it and can then deal with this easily.

I should not need that as I already have the full version of Access 2010 (as part of Office 2010 Professional). I also have not been getting Error 1004 at the start.

I downloaded and installed TCE just before 1.37b3 was released, and b2 ran fine. When I upgraded to b3, I noted a duplicate copy of Platinum in my DB, so went in with Access to remove it...and somehow managed to screw up the DB...

I then completely removed TCE, reinstalled it (1.36 installer) and replaced the 1.36 xlsm with the b4 one (as b4 had hit while I was in process). Been getting the Error 9's with b4 and b3 since. 1.37b2 seems to work fine though.
