Both pop ups and yes I have tried both display modes for long periods (always with the compact UI) with the same results.
Other then having to re-set the positions of the Icon panel after each change of the display mode,
I could not see any difference and I get the same crashes.

What is wrong with Dropbox ?
you do not need to login or make an account, just close that first pop up window and your browser should start the download.

Just delete
or rename your TCE.ini to TCE.bak if you want to keep a backup.
and run TCE Setup again, it will create a new, compatible one, for you.
Hi Everyone - long time no see. I've been stuck without Elite for about 4 weeks
Anyway - to cut a long story short, I am trying to install 1.41 and bring my 1.38 database in.
Is it a simple case of copying my old tce.mdb and panel.mdb into the new version (like it used to be) ?
Your old panel.mdb is no longer compatible with the V1.41, your old TCE.mdb is modded at the start of TCE, but i cant say it for sure, if it is working, because there are many changes done in the past.
What i can say is, that i am working on a transfer tool for old databases, to make them quite easy compatible with the actual version of TCE.
I think, i will finish it today, but i have to wait also on a report from a closed beta test, that happens in the background.
If all goes well, i release a new version today, including the transfer tool.

Found both problems, will be fixed in next version.
Checking the 'Old Panel Display' removes the task bar but the next time I access the TCE the task bar reappears. Now after updating when I select 'Select Trade Station' there is no trade station data. If I open the TCE database in TCE\DB there is nearly 3000 lines in station prices but none is visible using the TCE.
Please give me a screenshot of the problem. I dont fully understand, what the issue is.

partially (if not all) operator error. I did manage to retrieve my 'lost' data ... not
sure how, but it's back.
As I see others are having some issues with EliteOCR, thought I would let you know

Screenshot attached. There is only one station in the entire list that shows me as having visited it and entered trade data and that was the station that I did this for after applying the patch but when I look in TCE\DB station prices there are nearly 3000 lines of station prices.
I had been to quite a few stations and meticulously entered the station data and now those stations show as if I have never visited them and you can see my task bar in the bottom of the picture.
Is it possible for the auto-trade advisor to not want to send me to the furthest station in a system?
Atm, I have 3 stations in range, all in the same system, that gives me the exact same profit amount on the same item, but auto destination is always the furthest of the three from the star (which is 7,500+ ls), would be nice if it was the closest

If have changed the sorting, so the nearest station to the star is on top of the others, when the profit is equal. Included into the next version.

when searching for a good route with "trade scout" and i get a few routes listed. i always seem to find i have to move the scroll bar down and up again to see the best routes.
the listing always fills up the window but for some reason i then find that i have about 12 results above what is shown..
hopefully the new sorting will sort it out.

I had a similar/same situation (see msg #2951); answered by Eventur in #2952; and my response in #2983.
I never was sure what the fix was as I took the shotgun approach until it worked. Ethelreds suggestion in #2985 was one thing I tried; it seems that on some sortings, the data gets 'lost'. However, what I _think_ worked for me was:
I was using the TCE/DB/TCE.mdb_empty version having switched out the non-empty mdb version and renamed correctly per Eventures instructions. Then I flew around entering data ... which I subsequentialy could not find. What I _think_ I remember is that I looked into both mdb at the stations table and found my data in the previous one. I switched the two mdb files around (renamed) and voila there was my data ... happy ending. Like I said I really am not sure what I did; it is very possible that I switched to one of the TCE/BACKUP/* versions rather than what I said above.
In my case it could have been operator (me
error. That's likely not true in your case as you have been doing this for awhile relative to me couple of days.At this time, my best practice is to close TCE after a while, copy the whole directory to my own backup directory and restart. I find that TCE does freeze-up infrequently (for me) with subscript errors (which I cannot capture and report being behind the frozen panel (damn you microsoft).
Hope you get your data back. Though some issues, this is a really nice tool!
