Remove grid overlay on planets when not using DSS

While the grid overlay is super useful and makes sense while you are mapping with the discovery scanner, it makes very little sense afterwards to have the big blue overlay on afterwards.

It might be nice in the niche case that you want to map a lot of bodies right next to eachother and don't bother checking if you've already mapped something, but other than that, it's kind of just a weird eyesore when you're just trying to look around a planet.

When you're trying to look around and don't want map overlay, switch to back to combat mode.

I actually find it useful when approaching planet from the dark side.

Yes, that works, but it means that when you jump into the next system, you then have to switch mode again or the scanner can't honk, and that is a little annoying.

I agree with Aiki_Zvezda because it is F***ing annoying to have to change mode everytime you want to make a screenshot or anything like that... o_O It would be nice if that scan s***ty overlay would be seen only in FSD or PlanetScan wiev.
...but by writing about all such things it would make whole "All what is DAMN annoying about ED" book :-D

Actually you can do that if you set up the honk (calibration) to operate while you're in the DSS. You'll find you don't need to be in analysis to open the DSS and it's automatically switched from combat to analysis mode when you come out.
