Having recently participated in a CG in Open - yes in Open! Madness, I know - with my trusty T9 (heavily armored and shielded for the occasion) I stumbled upon the latest emergent content delivery (tm) meta: laying Reverberating Cascade mines inside a Station.
Unlike torpedoes they present the following advantages:
-don't need lock on;
-they are as fast as the ship delivering them;
-they cannot be destroyed in flight when they are laid on top of you;
-you have a lot to begin with, and most importantly,
-they can be restocked.
Furthermore, if the Station is in an Anarchy system or if you belong to the "wrong" Powerplay group, you can be attacked by them without the Station doing anything about it; if you are in a large or slow craft, you literally have no way to defend yourself short of the 15 seconds timer - without any possible counter available to you you will find yourself without shields and thrusters in no time.
I hear a lot of complains about the Heat Cannons, and I'm kinda surprised nobody ever mentioned them, having witnessed their effects first-hand. So, nerfbat when..?
