would be cooler if you really did have special legs that needed to be equipped to walk around and that all humans were otherwise just torsos placed on chairs with stationary legs that hook into your nervous system to allow you to fly better (due to being able to press pedals and experience g-forces and act on them better).
Maybe explain it that to be a pilot in the pilots federation, your testing is so strenuous that you must surgically have your bio legs removed because they are a liability due to blood loss in high g maneuvers. You fair much better as just a torso.
Then the DLC gives you special mobile cyborg legs.

Why everyone is claiming atmospherics while that what we see looks like what we have here, minus the slight sky tint? It's a thin atmosphere at best, more likely just a shader.
