Roccat Power Grid

i may be stupid but i just can't find this button to delete single controls (there's only a button to delete ALL controls)
if anybody can show me... :) thx

Not sure if you know it now....But......Left click the button you want to delete on the grid to highlight it and hit the delete key......

I've bought VoiceAttack, and hope to maybe try both in combination eventually. I struggle to remember to many buttons on a HOTAS in the heat of battle so using voice and powergrid seems a really good alternative to me, especially having a 7inch tablet clamped on an arm close to my left throttle hand.

Woah, I didn't even think of attaching the device to my arm.. Interesting

Anybody able to test out my Power-Grid dual panel config & give me some feedback please?

I have it set up for my Nexus 7, but it should be fine on most other devices with a 4.5" screen or bigger.

Note that my Nexus 7 gives a 5x4 button layout with a 16:10 1920x1200 screen, but on other devices that are a 16:9 aspect you might have a blank area with no buttons to the right side of the screen.

(If there's enough interest I might fix this, as I'll need to rescale the buttons to suit )

I've used most of the default key shortcuts for this, but some will need editing yourself depending on your setup.

A bit quiet of late from Roccat power grid central... must be deep in creating new features for the next big update to the host and app.

Pretty much :)

We have someone in the office dedicated to Power-Grid now so we should see more activity soon. We announced some new software at Gamescom which should be pretty exciting.

We have some cool grids for other games in the pipeline as well.

Thanks again for the continued support guys. Competition was a great success! :)

I'm still subscribed to this thread and will chime in from time to time.

Thank you--couldn't find this anywhere in the documentation, and I ended up editing the json file manually because it was less painful.

Been playing the game for month, even got Voice Attack, but I'm still using Power-Grid because it's easier and faster to use, just not so much from the set-up perspective.

thanks for the update.

Grids are great an all, but really we need to see some big host and tablet app updates. powergrid could be so much more/better, and I think you guys know this.

You have my support. And will look forward to some better tablet support soon I hope, this year maybe yes.

I want to try this but can't even get my own grid to work.
Strangely the keys are send to windows (when i didn't start the game yet), but when I'm in game it doesn't register any keys.
Do you have any idea?
Tried your grid and same thing.

[edit] I already setup that both power grid as well as E:D start as administrator.

Do any other ED grids work in-game. Starting powergrid host on windows as administrator usually solves that issue. Host is running before you start ED I assume, with the tablet already connected. Maybe try connecting the tablet after the game is running.

My expertise is very limited. CMDR Noctivagus might have more light to shed on this issue.

Do you have any other keyboard software, or something similar running in the background?

Do your normal keyboard shortcuts work fine in ED ?

must have been something with "running as admin" because I did that again and now it's working. made the shortcut now permanently running as admin (why oh why can't i permanently/always start everything as Admin in Windows 8.1 ?!?!?) thanks for pointing to that again guys.

now about MoodyB's layout I love it!
I love the "icons" you made in the same style as the game!
And GREAT that you made it in landscape. I was already looking on the Roccat forums and saw it's still not possible to do it in Power Grid.

It's working fine on my Nexus 7 as well.
I will (many thanks that you left it changeable!) change it a little.
Like the SYS, ENG and WEP I want them to go full on that when I tap it.
Can you say how (which program) you created the icons and if for instance Photoshop, give the psd?
I'd like to make for instance the Next Ship icon smaller (1 block).

But thanks I will use it more and perhaps stick with it :).

I have an x52pro.
I have trouble remembering what the hat locations do, unless they are intuitive, like thruster controls, so I still find Powergrid useful. Just moving the UI navigation and more obscure targetting options to the grid freed up a lot of space on the hotas.

Seriously! I suppose this will come with time, just how my girl doesn't understand how I use a G13 with Guild Wars 2. But I did make this for the X55 (well, I didn't 'make' it. Stole somebody else's on this forum and edited it to be blank with JStick numbers that correspond in game).

And print up a couple of those, going to assign buttons and just write it in until I get a good comfy setup, then I'll edit the image and laminate that or something. Will be helpful when others try it also.

I just can't see the point. :S

Yes it looks flashy but I have a whole keyboard full of buttons that aren't restricted by screen size on a smartphone or tablet. And my keyboard lights up in the dark too. Maybe with time and feedback on the forum I will see the benefit but right now I'm happy with my keyboard and hotas setup.

Eh, I have no idea what a vast majority of the buttons are assigned to! I didn't do quite a lot of things because I had no idea what button was assigned to what. Still don't!

So many buttons, will learn as time goes on but having something with a visual reminder "SUPERCRUISE BUTTON" would seriously help out.

My only problem is 'where' would I put this thing? I sit in an Ikea Poang chair with my X55 mounted on either side, this would need some kind of easel with my current setup. Or a monitor arm, lol.

I have tablet mounting arms, one suction mount for the table on my left and one clamp mount for the shelf on my right. Both swing and lock just within easy reach of both right and left hands. Sometime just mounting both tablets on my left side near my throttle hand.

Pretty cheap on ebay UK, tablet mounts of all kinds.

Thanks :) Glad you like it. I used GIMP to make it.

Here's a 1x1 & 1x2 button from the 2nd panel exported from GIMP as a psd to try in Photoshop :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2gfbdhc2lujspd/ED_PowerGrid-2ndPanel.psd?dl=0

If you use GIMP then let me know & I'll link the xcf instead.

Keep in mind it isn't 100% perfect as I don't use GIMP that often, so I've probably done a few things the hard way.

Anyway, each button has a bg layer and a text layer over it, so it'll be easy enough just to edit the text & export it. Here's the steps I used :

Hide all layers you don't want visible
Edit>Copy visible
Edit>Paste as new image
Image>Autocrop image
Image>Transform>rotate 90 degrees clockwise
File>Export

nice!
in control panel 2 you forgot ENG I believe.

It's the first panel. The ENG button doesn't look like its glowing properly.

To fix it, open up the image/icon options for the button & set 'Button Mask' to 'none'.

Edit - And the same fix for 'Ship Lights' - 'Button Mask' to 'none'
