yep same , im building my own game chair,, where on the arms in front of the warthog, will be my 2 tab's with roccat running,, almost like cpt kirk's chair lolol.. just more functions,, as for the forum,, don't expect a fast reply ,, both TB and Roccat forums are very slow in responeding..

Sounds awesome. What kind of chair are you going to use? I'm picturing a nice all leather molded chair with arm rests and a full back. Car seat or something?

Your on the right track . The seat is undecided . I have a friend who runs a scrap yard (helpful in my game body shop car repairs ).. but yes the idea is a car seat. The frame is from a old marquee. To go length of chair and screen mounts. Like the many other frame rigs you see for sale .

I have only started the base so far so not alot to show yet..

I game from my large two seater sofa (couch) with easy boy recliners both ends.

I find the screens are so expensive, especially these new 4k 140hz ones. I've only just managed to get x3 50inch plasma's, one good on in the middle and two cheaper ones for left and right. Gaming from my sofa you see about 8 feet away so it gives a massive FOV. Then I also have x2 24inch screens, one to my immediate left on a swing arm for temps and OC and teamspeak, and option for one to the right on a swing arm also.

I have a long board to my left that folds up on a hinge which lays across my legs and rests on the other side of the sofa, on that I put my new HOTAS (nothing fancy just a simple cheap Thrusmaster X HOTAS £30). Making it all work whilst on the sofa and comfy is an on going job. So to make up for the lack of buttons on the HOTAS I have VA and powergrid to learn how to use. Its all new the HOTAS (never used a joystick before) and VA and powergrid, so a good learning curve. Also eventually the DIY headtracker for a tenner as well for 'look'.

I intend to use my 7inch tablet for Roccat power grid for ships and game controls. I guess now you've mentioned using two tabs then |I could also use my android phone as well, for just a couple of extra buttons.

I'd love to have x3 60+inch 140hz in new 4K screens maybe in 3 years or so when the prices are right down, but I've got what I've got and have not experienced a 4k screen as of yet. I just need two good gpu cards with lots of vram now so am saving up, slowly for a new rig next year. A new i7 one of those new intels coming out now for OC with 8 cores (16 hyper threaded), 32Gb 2800 DDR4 ram, etc. But for now am making do with x2 NV gtx 670's 2gb, which hold up well OC'ed.

Just seen that pic, looks like a great set up.

I need a much faster rig if I am to run VA and powergrid, and have top visuals and performance in ED and SC etc. At the moment I have an i5 2500k @4.8ghz, 16GB 2133mhz muskin redline ridgeback ram, and just two gtx 670's 2GB - OC@1300/600, asus xonar sound card, samsung 840 pro's ssd's x4.

I can run 1440p on the 3 screens, but get better performance at 1080p with my current gpu/cpu set up. Most of the time I use just the middle 50inch screen, and the two 24inch screens left and right for stats and temps and teamspeak.

having been recently introduced to this roccat power grif has been a breath of fresh air for in-game controls all nice and visual in front of me, I really like it. And i'm hopeless at remembering buttons when in the heat of battle so having fewer buttons on the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X is perfect for me as a beginner, with VA and powergrid to compliment it.

cheers Marc , and thank you for popping your head in ,, yes i have watched the vids,, and i have a profile in your download section,, ,, then only bit i have not worked out yet is landscape mode,, i think alot of users will find this a better veiw for us ,, if you have this in place ,, ill have to dig deeper into the forums lol...

again thanks for your post enjoy the forum here ,, and yes you are really really mad hatter

Ha! Thanks Noctivagus :) Landscape is something that is currently not possible. The only way is to fake it and make all your icons and text flipped 90 degrees at the moment.

If I was in the Roccat dev team I would only develop for the new Windows Phone 8.1. With all those new shared features in Visual Studio it will be easier to have shared assets between your phone and metro app.

So in theory if you have multi screens (or touch laptop) you could use that as power grid as well!

Windows 8 support is something we have heard from many users. All I can say is stay tuned ;)

It is very nice to visually see the ships command buttons right in front of you..as you would be if actually in your cockpit.

It was good to have someone from roccat make a post and to let us know its still actively being developed. I posted a question on the forum in general questions asking how to add in my two media players J River Media centre, and Zoom Player Max to that cool default sound control grid, the one with the large shiny volume disc.

In the edit section there is only a basic list of a few media players, and I'd like to add my two in. I just like that large wheel for volume control :)

Sorry we have no plans to add more media players at this time. I think we only have the Volume slider to export at the moment.

Sorry the official forums have been so slow to respond. It's mainly because our team is deep in development right now and the brilliant MrTestOne who normally handles all that stuff is on a business trip.

Like I said though, we are still developing Power-grid we'll have something exciting to announce at Gamescom. Hang in there, we will be squashing all these issues with a gigantic foot of awesomeness!

nice look forward to it

I will defiantly be creating a custom templates for this, though mine will be setup with the X52 pro in mind.

Since I'm not in the alpha or beta, I'm going to finally try out Diaspora, and see if I create a grid for that to handle some targeting and comms squad assignments. I'll see how things progress. If anyone has a grid for it do please post it.

I am thinkng of getting a cheap android tablet specifically to use with power grid, there are several under $100, typically under $70 on amazon, and at places like 'big lots'

Does anyone know the specific minimum requirements for power grid?
I see $45 7" tablets on amazon, but they are android 4.0.

amazon search:

Big Lots:

--- I went with this one, it seemed current enough, and $50

this is the lowest grade tab I used , for testing ,, did work quite well,
the only issue I had with this one was the loading of roccat ,, sometimes not all the graphics loaded up..
couple of re-run of the app sorted it, after that worked just as fast as the higher end tabs I have ,, I would say get a dual core at least ,,

cyclone explorer

very soon I will be adding Touch-buddy to this thread ,, this app works under windows,, at present can not be used on your local machine,, as ED dose not release the mouse cursor,, so at moment I have it set up as a server + client.
meaning the game pc is the server , and my acer icrona tab as the client,,
you could also use a small form with a touch screen attached,, the graphics are of your own making,, many tabs can be used for multi screens ...
and its free totally ,, no buy extra screens etc ...

what I have done so far with touch-buddy

enjoy

Is this likely to be better than Roccat. I can see the pro's of having it on windows. But for me I think now I've got a 7inch quad core tablet (HP slate 7 plus HD) I'll be using that. It works so fast there is barely any delay in selecting a function.

Having just installed Diaspora: Shattered Armistice last night I can see I need more buttons. My Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X is ok, but the lack of throttle hat for glide thrusters is a problem. I'm not very good with things like xpadder or scripting. I would like to spilt the throttle so - is reverse thrust and + is forward thrust. At the moment its just analogue thrust.

The Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X will do me as a starter HOTAS, and I'll learn to compliment it with Roccat. I think its far to early for me to be also trying VA on top.. I have a hard enough time just remembering the buttons on this HOTAS.

Still jolly good fun experimenting though :)

Theres pros and cons to both apps so far either needs a external. Device..
The difference. Touch buddy has is very customizable. You can have alot more buttons on one screen .in any shape,, design is the main feature of touch buddy . Apart from the fact its totally. Free.
