Rubbernuke.exe has stopped working

Do we need to rename this thread?
"State of the RubberNuke" has a certain ring to it. It's beginning to feel like we never left State of the Game....
Just wait until Update 19 livestreams and info plus the release nears. Its going to become surreal having a whole, undiluted update and all talk directed at Powerplay where no-one can escape and must chat about it.

Lets just hope FD have learnt lessons

What would be interesting (and funny for some) to watch - from the sides ofc - is the reactions of PPers when details will be announced plus the reactions after the first cycles in PP2.0
The devil is always in the detail. Its a tricky one too as its essentially replacing a BGS like system all in one go while its still moving.

all we know - is what Arthur said in the stream: "a full rework of PowerPlay, we're actually calling it, imaginatively, PowerPlay 2.0"

everything else is wishful speculations.
Well to make PP better you need to remove the crap bits, which is quite a lot. CC, merits, decay, tasks, gov type allegiance, perks.....I'd be surprised that a whole year was changing a font and buffing Aislings portrait.

Lets just hope they allow us somehow to get a "emotional bond" or anything that gets some form of bond going. I never cared for powerplay because i do not care about the leaders of those powers. I do not know them, i can not see them face to face. I have no reason to fight or die for them. Credits or mediocre modules (at least for a lot of them) are no incentive to commit to a power. At least not to me.

I know this would require some game mechanics changes but I really wish we could attack ships and stations in a way that could allow you to destroy them or put them out of commission for a while. Make use of torpedoes for bombing runs, and have real battles with capital ships. All that could be worked into power play by attacking strategic areas of manufacturing or resource extraction.

Space combat with 90s games like X-wing, tie fighter, freespace, was always great with including ships and stations of all different sizes.
