Sorry if thats hard on the eyes. but I think if any of you are NOT getting this kind of action... or better, you should be.

ok. I'm a bit confused by that.

  • Make Anarchy systems ALWAYS have at least one black market, but make transactions selling stolen / illegal (?) goods to the black market exert a positive influence on the controling anarchy faction - read that as the liberty of dealing in such an unregulated manner bolsters support for the extremely liberal / non existant anarchists governance
I was thinking about this the other day and I had a thought - what if anarchies didn't have a black market, and instead just accepted stolen goods at the regular commodity market?

On top of that - in systems where a criminal-ethos faction is present, add a new contact for people that are at least neutral with them called a Fence.
If you show up to the port with stolen goods in your hold, the fence will find a buyer for you - essentially generating a smuggling/delivery mission for you on the spot. The goods are converted to mission cargo for that mission, and you deliver them to some nearby port. This would solve one of the other problems that anarchies have - a lot of the time, their entire board is locked behind friendly or allied rep.

Hell, this sort of thing would be a neat gameplay thing in general for any faction - happen upon something rare/valuable? Instead of just selling it to the nearest commodity market, talk to a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who will pay handsomely for that thing.

Any of you ever thought of turning the tables on the lawful factions?
Why don't you go out and raid & sabotage some settlements yourselves? Steal some power regulators. Kill some people. Steal some data.
Watch the world burn.
Y'all are the whiniest space terrorists I've ever heard of.

Doesn't "lawful" base literally drop soldiers infinitely ?

Also, would it harm them, background stuff wise ?

Not if you turn the alarms off it won't.
And yes, according to the devs.

Would that help the "anarchy" factions ? Because the issue is declining influence apparently.

Also, to be fair, the background simulation should be able to keep anarchy around. We need targets for lawful players after all. As mcuh as it's weird to say it, but pirates are healthy to the game, to some degree ofc.

Okay, do we have PROOF that Black Markets hurt or help anarchies? I've always heard that black markets only hurt anarchies, just like any other faction type, but here we have people claiming that SOME items sold to black markets help the anarchy faction?

That's great if true, but I've never seen any proof of this. Provide thy evidence, sir.

There is no doubt that Anarchy factions and their assets are important for the game.

As for your first question, if you hurt one, you help the other.

What do you think we've been doing? That's not the problem.

You seem to be mistaking a legitimate BGS bug that specifically and demonstrably affects anarchy factions across the board on an unprecedented scale... for us not playing the game anymore?

even though it might work, I would not do it for
1, too new of method and results to know what it all does yet.
2, my preference when not forced to use violence is to use friendly persuasion - aka trade.
had I not been un-able to try OD right away, I might have used it and suffered a lot from what I read so far.
then would have gone to trade so as not to make it worse but also to ensure good results from a method I use almost every day.
Lucky for me I could not get into the game.
as such, even now, I would use trade and do it in Horizons, where I know exactly what it does.
But, if all I would be fighting is the inf fail from the various inadequacies of the release, then chances are high nothing will work.
But I would end the day with the best attack I know of. then see what tomorrow needs.

I am not in that boat though.

Regardless of any BGS bugs or imbalance new with Odyssey (or the bounty rebalance last year) nobody supports an Anarchy faction because it's easy, they do it for the challenge to going against the flow :)

In order for success to be meaningful there must be the opportunity for failure. A challenge that is too easy is no fun (although it can be a useful learning opportunity), but a challenge that is too hard is no fun either & if the game works against Anarchy factions more & more, fewer & fewer players will take on the challenge feeling there is a realistic chance of success.

Or in other words win or lose Anarchy supporters are the best, anyone else it a wuss ;)

Most systems have 7 factions, with one anarchy. If you hurt one lawful faction, you help 5 other lawful factions plus the anarchy faction. Whereas every local lawful faction is specifically dishing out missions that target the anarchy factions. The maths doesn't balance out on your proposition.

You are not wrong.
which is actually why I used an alt account to get in here and try to help with my experience.
the systems I operated in and controlled or otherwise affected are not suffering anything like these guys systems are.
Mine are really quite content, even with my absence, because even with all the attacks my systems are under, they are also filled with cmdrs that learned from me.
including my local pmf oppositions, they also have a vested interest in my systems not falling apart.

Is FDev hiring?
