There aren't just redwoods from The Lost World: Jurassic Park, there were deciduous and other conifer tress in the movie as well. The redwoods were added to the game through Update 1.12, and those were scenery trees.
The filming location, Patrick's Point State Park, is home to many other tree types besides redwoods: Pine, Fir, Spruce, and Red Alders.
Because most (if not, all) of these trees were present on Isla Sorna in the film because of the chosen filming location, they are "basically" established tree types for that island in the film series. And since this game focuses on film series authenticity, these trees would be good option candidates for more tree types to add besides the tropical and redwood trees.
Whether some of them or all of them can be either scenery objects or nature paint brush options is another thing. Regardless, these would be more diverse tree types you can add to affect your dinosaur forest needs.
