uuuh what is the point of big ships beside "hitpoints" , they turn slower, they have an six they can not defend, turrets are crap and they are slower and thus have no choice in escaping or engaging once combat startet.
Should small ships have an I-Win button now?
Sometimes I feel like a lot of people haven't played previous Elites, where big expensive ships weren't the dominant gods of the battlefield. In Elite 2, the Python and Anacondas were heavy traders that could adequately defend themselves. Think of them like an East Indiaman ship, capable of defending themselves, but not some sort of super weapon. Meanwhile, heavy fighters such as the Asp, Courier, and Cobra MK III was what you fought with.
The point of the current big ships is to trade. The point of the Anaconda and Python is to trade while being able to defend themselves, and not pose an easy target like the Type-9. Or should the Type-9 also be able to be invincible and wreck everything that challenges it?
Do you want combat oriented big ships? Sure, so do I. But do it in an intelligent fashion such as giving them logical roles to fulfill, such as being a carrier, a battleship that excels at taking out big targets but is vulnerable to small ones, corvettes that small targets but are vulnerable to heavy hitters.
Not invincible god ships.
