Scrap or redesign shield cell modules, they are too overpowered and trivialize PvP.

uuuh what is the point of big ships beside "hitpoints" , they turn slower, they have an six they can not defend, turrets are crap and they are slower and thus have no choice in escaping or engaging once combat startet.
Should small ships have an I-Win button now?

Sometimes I feel like a lot of people haven't played previous Elites, where big expensive ships weren't the dominant gods of the battlefield. In Elite 2, the Python and Anacondas were heavy traders that could adequately defend themselves. Think of them like an East Indiaman ship, capable of defending themselves, but not some sort of super weapon. Meanwhile, heavy fighters such as the Asp, Courier, and Cobra MK III was what you fought with.

The point of the current big ships is to trade. The point of the Anaconda and Python is to trade while being able to defend themselves, and not pose an easy target like the Type-9. Or should the Type-9 also be able to be invincible and wreck everything that challenges it?

Do you want combat oriented big ships? Sure, so do I. But do it in an intelligent fashion such as giving them logical roles to fulfill, such as being a carrier, a battleship that excels at taking out big targets but is vulnerable to small ones, corvettes that small targets but are vulnerable to heavy hitters.

Not invincible god ships.

THEY ARE NOT!

An Viper or pimped Cobra out turns them, turrets are broken, you could as well attach boxes with smileys on them, Python will have its turn rate reduced, so ? Do you want class four hardpoints on Viper and Cobra?

Doesn't matter if a viper or a cobra out-turns them. Just like it doesn't matter if an Eagle out-turns a cobra with shield cells, which the eagle itself gains practically nothing from. They still turn well enough to dogfight and are currently just oversized fighters instead of heavy traders that can outlast any enemy thrown at them. Without shield cells, pythons and anacondas still accomplish their role of being a dangerous trader for pirates perfectly well.

It's a simple battle of attrition this way.

Python will be nerfed at the same time so it can not outturn vipers anymore so viper wins, what more do you want?

Eagles outturn vipers too, do they win against vipers?

Not saying Pythons shouldn't win, but because of its insane shields/huge number of slots/huge power surplus this SCB nerf basically doesn't affect the Python at all while making smaller ships much more vulnerable - it's a hidden buff to the Python.

PS I fly a Python. I can drop (CMDR) Viper shields in less than 5 seconds.

I am sure Frontier will nerf the python good enough to keep Viper pilots happy and in possesion of the only ship that can kill all others

I am not interested only in PvP and do not have an compensation problem so i can exist without having the biggest and baddest lol

Not getting hit beats armor.
Ask any rogue in an fantasy settings

Now imagine not getting hit yet with really great shields for the size of ship in case you do -then on top of that you have a bunch of extra lives for those times you get hit (even though you are hard to hit and have great shields).

That would be a bit like a rogue healing in stealth or while sprinting, right? Oh, wait a minute!

Look, Vipers out turn everything bigger than they are and can run should they have bad luck,m big ships have harder shields and can not outrun an viper, that is very balanced in my eyes... well actual in favour of the viper.

Bigger ships have no reason to run from a viper and can leave whenever they want. All the viper can do is... run away. That's not balanced, lol.

reconsider what weapons you use?
Aside, as said, the point of an bigger ship should be more hp, or everything should be an hauler then...
