Engineers SDC Commences "Operation SpicyBois 2.0"

For exploited ships, I don't know what we could do. Maybe go around killing people with godrolled ships (that we obtained legitimately)?

Operation "RNGesus doesn't save".

To raise awareness for the bleakness of using legitimate RNG in the face of a precision machined foe, players will be interdicted at random by one or more operatives, with a macro advising them that their fate will be put down to RNG roll of 1 to 100.

Proceed to roll in front of them and enact the result. A roll of 1 to 20: instant annihilation. A roll of 21 to 41: your PP is blown out, and operatives use vertical thrusters to teabag the pilot. List continues; the more embarrassing the punishment the better. A roll of 100: you survive. Congrats! Oddz beaten.

Upload videos of teabagged victims for maximum community lulz, even if it doesn't go anywhere. That said, space teabagging is my move. I have a trademark on that. Or something.

EDIT: Look ma, no hands! Shortly after this post, issue fixed. Wonder if I should start a thread proposing an initiative against cash exploits and see if fixes mysteriously appear shortly after...

OMG the hysteria over the god-rolled ships gets more bizarre by the day, as it now seems to pervade almost every thread related to game changes needed, with Ziljan at the vanguard - he's like a dog with a bone, atm.

Let me spell it out to you...the only people affected by this are serial PvPers...anyone else getting up in arms is overreacting. Ergo, SDC et al have the most to lose by this exploit due to their playstyles. Check out the PvP league - god-rolls are just 'Engineers' in microcosm - how did the organisers deal with the problem of RNG advantages? They removed the upgrades from the tournament with one G1 module (why this one pointless concession? who knows!).

Some of you are implying 'this means I now have no chance if I meet a PvPer ship with god-rolls in open' - I have news for you, Ziljan - one, there is absolutely no guarantee their g1=g5 rolled ships are massively OP due to the very nature of RNG & two, if you meet one of these guys, you have no chance anyway - this is all they do day after day - they're good at it. They fight with others who are good at it...this makes them even better...they do this everyday....for hours...get it?

The god rolls will make ZERO practical difference to 99.9% of players - many commenters are using this issue expediently to put the boot in with unsubstantiated accusations & are just passive-aggressive PvP haters...probably jealous of the skills/ships (hard-earned in the vast majority of cases) on show.

God, I'm beginning sound like Jason Barron...someone kill me!

NO TIME TO PROOFREAD - ARGHHH!

Personally I love PvP but I never do it in ED, with the exception of CQC.

I don't do it because it's a side show in the game. It has hardly no purpose and it requires different equipment to PvE gameplay. That equipment takes a massive time investment to obtain and it's more or less useless for the rest of the game.
The exploit gate has further raised the bar on the equipment side. I does not matter to me personally because the bar was to high before it, but it matters to many players who thought they were PvPing on an even playing field.

There are so many obstacles in ED for players to get in to PvP. We don't need yet another one.

Exploit gate does not affect my gameplay at all but if FD fixed the deep issues with outfitting in general, a hole new area of the game would open up to me.

I'm allowed to hope, am I not? :)

So you're calling people like Jason Barron, Truesilver and countless other honourable PvPers passive aggressive PvP haters who are jealous of skillz because they speak out against cheating.

You poor deluded naive soul you...it wasnt specifically the cheat itself that angered so many, it was the blatant disregard fer the rulkes and the intention behind the cheat. They intended to use an exploit knowing full well it was an exploit...what it gave them was irrelevant, it was the mentality behind it.

Far as Im concerned, just being here at all today is a mercy that I personally would not have given were it my decision to make. Other games would have just permabanned their accounts with immediate effect, so FD have shown mercy.

If ye cant do the time then dont do the crime...simples ^

cheating is bad, m'kay?

Yeah, 'cos my post says clearly that I agree with cheating & that I don't want this fixed or the offenders punished :D

I was merely making a point about the overreaction by some members of the community in terms of how they can't play in open anymore as a result of an exploit that will never directly affect them!

Or operation damp start...this is so much fun to be had at their expense right about now. Ah but they can dish it...oh boy can they dish it out [yesnod]

But taking it? They dont appear to handle that part so well but unfortunately fer them, the worse they take it, the thicker one applies it and the more hilarious it gets as they lose the plot. Thats what happens when ye invest so much into building a bad boy reputation...sooner or later yer gonna have to deal with the consequences and theres not a snowballs chance in hell that everyones gonna just forget about it.

Seems in this case the pepperami is just too spicy fer the spicy bois ^

And I was making the point that's irrelevant. Because cheating is bad, m'kay.

And I agree what you wrote there is a strawman
