Even in the face of Fdev's prideful and defensive obstinacy... SDC prevailed. No later than just last week Sandro stubbornly stuck to his guns (probably a pair of cute little six-shooter cap plinkers to go with that cowboy hat

) regarding the heat meta, intent to even BUFF the heat output of thermal cascade and shock weapons while insisting that a 120% heat cap was a sufficiently low enough level for heat to not be overpowered. This was after months (going all the way back to the
last beta) of attempting to keep this overpowered method intact, in the face of numerous and repeated complaints regarding heat-- many that were thoroughly substantiated with hard data from testing and videos and other excellent player-created resources. Stubborn until the bitter end, he was. But no more.
Finally, the straw that broke the camel's back was Operation SpicyBois. Abruptly just within the last few days, Sandro and his team made changes to the heat meta that were almost identical to those proposed by SDC members directly to them. There were some slight differences but the overall effect was intact. This was a complete 180 from what they had maintained as their beliefs about the heat meta all along. Say it was "planned all along" all you wish... because in the end it really is nothing more than just that... wishing. It's okay though, SDC is happy to make the sacrifices when necessary to get this community the balancing it needs. See you at Sothis
