So are we just throwing poop at the walls and hope it sticks or should you just not buy the kits?
This isnt a real problem in the game. Its ascetics. You dont have to buy them. The game has already suffered numerous mass exodus of players, if you just stop buying the kits eventually Fdev may get the point that they need to relook at them, reduce the cost or find out why people arn't purchasing them.
I personally would buy more ships kits say for the Vette if they added a ship kit that made it look like the Destiny for StarGate Universe or the Daedalus from SG1, But their British so ...
It wouldn't be the first time. Am I eating the pie wrong? Should I start at the other side?
I mean I always eat the right half first, because the other half is left...

On another note, tomorrow you'll be able to stand up and walk around your ship cabin. There will also be a complimentary loot-lunchbox on your ship counter complete with complimentary big gulp of lavian soda to fit in the cup holders. o7!
Your premise is that there is a trend. I showed that you have not demonstrated a trend, and addressed your argument directly by showing your premise to be flawed. There is no strawman here. Not even close. Go brush up on your understanding of logical fallacies, and the come back when you have an actual argument against what I said, rather than trying to dismiss it this way, because by doing that, it is actually you committing the fallacy: argumentum ad logicam.
Until you demonstrate a trend, accusing me of denying one is also a fallacy. It's not up to me to prove a negative, that a trend doesn't exist. Until you demonstrate that one does, it can be generally accepted that there isn't one. It's that simple. It's a Russel's Teapot.

And I'll know you know one when you see it when you demonstrate you know what one is. Again, the key factor is 'demonstration'. We know flat earther's don't understand orbital mechanics because they don't demonstrate an understanding of them. In the same vein, you don't have a clue what a strawman is because you've thus far been unable to demonstrate an ability to correctly identify one.
If you feel like vanity items aren't worth the price, then don't spend the price. It's that simple. If enough people aren't buying them, demonstrating the 'trend' that Stealthie claims, then maybe they'll 'up their game'. What you choose to do with your money is up to you, and will say a lot more than any amount of whining on the forums.
For the most part, I feel what I'm buying is adequate. The Viper wasn't when I bought it, I wasn't happy at all but it looks like it's received a bit of a bump in quality since then.
Whilst I'll continue to buy their cosmetics, I still think the quality could do with an increase.

Of course. There's always room for improvement. Here's my problem, though.
You say you continue to buy their cosmetics. Clearly, they're worth what you're spending, at least in your opinion, or you wouldn't spend it.
Would an increase in quality also increase their value? Right now, cosmetics are incredibly good value for money, especially when you weigh their cost against the microtransactions in many other games. My favourite example is SWTOR, at least at the time that I was playing it, when you'd spend (I can't remember how much) and get a couple of pieces of random armour, which may or may not be stuff you already have, and then a bunch of junk you'd never use. At least here, you know what you're buying.
What are people willing to pay for? This is a consideration FDEV have to take into account, along with the labour cost of developing such assets. Do you see my squadron logo I'm using as my profile pic? I had a friend and squad mate who happens to be a graphic designer develop it for our use, along with a 3D version. We brainstormed the design together, and then he did the work. I'll share them here, but before I do, it's important to mention that as a capitalist, I wasn't expecting him to do it for free, and offered him the going rate for such development where I'm from, which is about $55AUD.
And because these forums don't like the size of the 3D version, here's a video that uses it.
You see, work like that takes time, and even if I didn't offer him money, if he refused to do the work without being paid, there would have been nothing wrong with that, because he deserves to get paid. As do the developers behind cosmetic items in this game. How much time do you think they spend making those? How much effort do they put in? Probably a bit more than you think they do, and they have to get paid for that work. Especially if that work is then going to be used commercially.
Now picture them putting in even more work, even more effort, to get that increased quality you want. More work, and more effort, means more pay, more labour costs, because that's how it works. If FDEV want to earn a profit from these works, then the price for us has to go up to accommodate those increased labour costs. So FDEV have to consider what we, as players, are willing to spend, and attempt to provide accordingly.
You have to remember that Frontier is a business. People need to get paid, so they can afford their rent, buy food for their families, pay the bills, etc etc. We can sit here and say "I want I want" all day long, but it's really easy to forget not just what the people who make what we want actually need, but also what they actually deserve. I'd more than welcome higher quality cosmetics in the game, and I'm not saying that no one should be asking for them. My point is, we aren't owed them, and we should expect that with higher quality comes higher price.
I want to summarise to you exactly what just happened, just to paint the clearest picture of your intellectual dishonesty here, in case anyone is confused.
You: my argument is x, based on premise y
Me: your premise y is flawed, therefore argument x has not been demonstrated
You: STRAWMAN!
Me: that's not a strawman, as I directly addressed your argument
You: STOP BAITING ME!
If you can't handle being wrong, and being called out for it, all I can suggest is that you just stop talking, because we're all wrong from time to time. Man up and own it, or continue to stomp your feet at me like a child throwing a tantrum, I don't care. But nothing you've said, not one thing, has challenged my counterpoints to everything you've said. Let that last bit sink in a minute, because it's important. You claimed a 'trend' where one has not been demonstrated. This matters, because until your trend is demonstrated, this premise is nul and void in any argument.

In life, you'll find that people will respond to you more charitably, and explain things you've misunderstood, if you interact with them politely.
If you don't do that, people will ignore you because they won't see any benefit in interacting with you.

Your interpretation of my criticism of your bad arguments to be 'impolite' also does absolutely nothing to challenge said criticism. I have not been polite nor have I been impolite. I'm not here to make friends, and I'm not asking you to be one. I don't care how you perceive me or respond to me, and I don't care if you ignore me, which you're clearly not doing because you have a vested interest in one-upping me by whatever means you can, because you're too cowardly to admit that you're just wrong.
The fact of the matter is, I have no interest in what you think of me. It's irrelevant. I provided a counterpoint to your argument, and you are acting like a child because that counterpoint was a strong one, and you don't have anything intellectually honest to come back at it with. The adult thing to do in a situation like that is say, "Oh, you know what, you're right, I should reconsider this position." Instead, you've tried to call me out for fallacies that weren't used, as well as my 'behaviour' on the forums as if I've insulted your mother or tried to incite the second Battle of Stalingrad.
So let me know if you have any challenge to my counterpoint of your claim that there's a 'trend'. Because right now, you're doing exactly what you accused me of: strawmanning. By attacking my 'presentation' instead of addressing the content, you have not actually addressed the content, only a personal problem you have with my presentation, which amounts to "HE CRITICISED ME HOW RUDE!" Sorry, but you don't just get to dismiss criticism as 'rude' or 'trolling', especially if you haven't addressed it at all.
If I've done something against the forum's rules, if I've been legitimately impolite, feel free to report the offending post. But don't try to pass off criticism as impoliteness. That's your strawman right there.
