Not got names for all of them but:


Sidewinder - Ren
Adder - Stimpy

T9 - Queenie (she's a big ol girl)
Asp X Betsy (not sure why, spent ages in it and it just seemed right)

FDL - The J. Edgar (I used it for ages blowing things up for the mats)
Orca - The Dean Martin (Fly me to the moon etc)

So far I only have 2 ships which achtually have names:

Adder: "White Adder" - I thought of Blackadder first (a character in a British TV show, kin of Mr. Bean).

T6: "Patroklos" - Greek warrior and friend of Achilles, who died fighting for his friend at Troy.
This T6 did a heroic job at a recent CG for Achillles Corp.

Eagle 'Sun Runner' - my stripped Sag A* Bucky entry in Vivid Yellow that also earned me enough credits to fully A rate and outfit a brand new Asp X on the return trip to the bubble.
Cobra III 'Stellar Flotsam' - my first exploration ship
iEagle '<Redacted>' - in midnight black, outfitted and engineered for speed. For canyon running and wake scanning for data mats
Asp Explorer 'Calamity Jane' - Has been re-outfitted several times as Smuggler, Explorer, Miner
Vulture 'Jackhammer' - Hits hard
iCourier 'Hornet'
Python 'Wyvern Argent' - White Dragon in Tactical Ice, has lately become my Void Opal specialist
Mamba 'Revenant'
Krait II 'Diamond Dog' my current ride in DW2, paid for by mining and named after an Alastair Reynolds novel

I usually name my ships according to a feature their role requires, after birds or after constellations. There are some exceptions of course.


Named after Feature:

Aspiration - Sidewinder (Exploration)
Tenaity 2 - T7 (Transport)
Pertinacity - T6 (Mining)
Sedulous - Krait MKII (Salvaging / Blockade Running)
intangible - Cobra MKIII (Multipurpose)
Persecutor - Viper MKIV (Bounty Hunting)
Incessant - Keelback (Salvaging)

Named after Constellation:

Capricorn - ASPX (Exploration)
Virgo - Krait Phantom (Exploration)

Named after a Bird:
Kestrel - iEagle (Interception)
Swift - iCourier (Sightseeing)
Heron - Clipper (charter flights)

Other reasons:

Columbia - Adder (Material Gathering & Data Mining)
Kate Rice - T9 (Mining)

I've got 4 ships all have the same name. I switch back and forth so much that it's hard to remember which ship let alone which name. Ever run across NEMO LXXI don't bother posting a memo, my latency is so bad I wouldn't get it until tomorrow anyways; Flash your light off and on seems to do the trick.

I'm thinking of doing the reset too. After reaching triple elite, finding Raxxla in the new cobra mk3 paint job and science documenting all life forms in the galaxy. In 4 years or so..
