Ship Outfitting should have a time delay

Logging in should have a time delay, too. It is not realistic to wake up in the pilot seat of a ship. You wake up on your bed in your cabin in the station.

Then you
- make coffee
- go pee
- drink coffee (or more breakfast)
- shower
- dry hair
- brush teeth
- get dressed
- leave cabin
- walk to the ship
- have a chat with the old fart cleaning the vents
- inspect the ship
- open the door
- enter the ship
- sit down

So there should be at least a 28 minute wait after login before you can fly away.

Funny... I actually want less of a delay in some areas...

If I change a weapon, I don't want to sit there and watch the animation of its change. I want to move on and carry on outfitting...

Why can't I press a key and move on? Is someone holding me forcibly still, "You will watch your weapon being replaced!"

In addition to delays for outfitting, refueling, repairs and ship transfers, I think there should be a delay when the game starts. Generating billions and billions of stars and planets should take a considerable amount of time. Having the game load so quickly breaks my immersion.

They say that 'Sarcasm' is the lowest form of wit!

Just commenting on your highly informative factual post..... (Damn thats Sarcasm too. DOH!!! )

It already has one, actually. Which is the time it takes to play the animation of the dock going into the service bay, and the time it takes for the animation of the previous weapon being removed and the new weapon being put in place to play.

The ship transfer, which takes place in a shipyard, will also involve an animated loading screen. If you think the outfitting animation means there's a delay, the same applies to ship transfer - it's not "instant" anymore. If you feel the ship transfer animation is too short to be believable, the OP is also entitled to feel the same about the outfitting one.

The only change I'd love to see that wouldn't be a time sink is a different interaction screen at stations. Instead of being in the cockpit looking at a hologram menu, you should get "moved" to some external view looking down at your ship behind the holographic menu. As you do things (cargo, repairs, weapons) etc. you see all that "work" going on in the background but it doesn't actually hold you up at all and when you're ready to launch it all just finishes up. That way you get a sense of realism, and if you really want to be realistic you're welcome to let that screen go on and on for days, but aren't locked down in real time wasting your life. There's PLENTY of that in super cruise already.
