350 pages of circular debate would disagree with that statement.Unfortunately, calling ships to your current location works much better for that.

So is everyone who wants long delays playing ironman mode? The instant rebuild of your ship is zero different to instantly getting it at your destination.
Well they'd have to add a new GUI icon into the system map for "send ship here" on a selected port/station, and then display a list to select the ship(s) to send with confirmation.Unfortunately, calling ships to your current location works much better for that.

Are you still clueless about what I'm arguing, or are you pretending to be?

If we get a delay for ship transfer, we should get a delay for the insurance screen too. It should be exactly as long as it takes to transport an escape capsule from where you were destroyed back to where you last docked. To make it even more realistic and immersive, the delay should also include the time it takes for a rescue ship to respond, get to and find your capsule and return to the nearest port capable of rebuilding your ship with all modules, and the time to get from there to your previus port.
Any compromise on this would only break immersion.
Any takers?

haha. Also I doubt any space station would let you dock for free in real life. So let's say stations charge you an even 500k docking fee to land with the price going up depending on the size of your ship. Largest ship being charged maybe 50 mill to dock. Oh, and they'll also tax anything you sell or buy. So let's say 10% each?
Hey immersion people, how's this sounding?

As expected, you have nothing to contribute to the debate. You = a waste of server space. No, I just think it's funny that you're still chasing you tail after all this time, have you ever tried stand up.
Time delay: YES
1:1 ratio: NO
2:1 or 4:1 ratio: Maybe
Instant: NO
There needs to be a decision on how much time it takes to transfer the ship. If I left a ship at Sothis and I live in Eotienses (about 450LY out), I think it should take half the time or something. I can make the trip normally in about 20-30 minutes or so. I think that waiting ten minutes is not too much. That's a simple bathroom/food/drink break.
2 cents given.

Another poll? Ugh.
Ok, in favour of a delay, but voted for instant just be contrary. I understand some people feel this is a battle for the heart and soul of ED, but some of the hysterics, exaggerations, and misunderstandings in the previous thread beggars belief. Not read this one, but presume its the same people having the same discussion all over again.
And no surprises with the poll results. About the same as the other one. Just made more binary. At this point, i'd have really liked a third option of "Beyond caring"
Not sure why this thread was allowed to live, but hey ho, I didn't make the call.
