Show Us Your Setup

I checked their site (http://www.simpit.co.nz/index.php/products/icarus-avenger) but I doubt I will ever have the room and/or the money to achieve that kind of immersion! That is so good.

Trust me the struggle is real! lol.
I plan on buying it... but I have to do it in 'stages'. Also currency conversion rates right now are favoring me (USD) so just the desk and frame I can purchase for around $1400 USD. Granted... I'm saving right now and not there yet. LOL. However then I'll need to buy 2 decent digital projectors for the array... and that will have to come later after I lick my wounds from the screen & framework. Maybe by the end of 2016 I'll have it set up? That's my aim. Trust me if I do pull the trigger and start building it I'll start a thread for it to help others decide if it's worth the money and trouble.

Still, it won't be a stylish as your bespoke construction. Also the dual-sticks and foot pedals are just exotic looking!

So to be correct, the Corsair H100i has four fans? I have the Corsair H110i gt, and have two fans, but the air flow isn't the best. Have any temps of idle and under high load for that CPU cooler?

I need to update the photo, as I have changed the case, graphics cards and also now have a custom waterloop for the cpu as I had to delid the cpu and create a custom loop just to get the temps to a decent temp.

This is awesome!!!! Amazing work! :D

So I know that the tablets running power grid work with Elite, but what about the Viper-style MFD units? Do you have bindings for those displays in Elite? Or are those for playing other flight sims like FSX and DCS World?

Easily one of the most extreme setups I've ever seen! I've had my eye on The Simpit Icarus Avenger for a long time, so your immersive setup is very inspirational!

There are some truly amazing setups here!

My second bedroom pulls double duty as my computer gaming room and my exercise room so I have to be as compact as I can.

The MFDs are made by Thrustmaster. I have keybindings for Sys-map, gal-map, and a few other commands.
I'm still in the progress of configuring the equipment. It became playable not long ago, and there is still much left to really maximize the system.
The MFDs have multiple screens each, but for now they are for show. They can be programmed for various button pushes, but haven't done it yet.
(I have a young child, so I don't get much time to work on the cockpit.)

Separate note: I need to edit my post, as I have 32gb of ram and wanna properly embed the youtube video.

Thanks for the info! It's a very impressive build. I've been looking at adding additional physical cockpit instrumentation via Saitek MFDs and accessories. The extra tablets and power-grid stuff is a bit beyond me right now, but I'd like to learn how to do that. Also a virtual high-five to you for finding the time for this build whilst being a parent. I too have a young child and another one on the way :D So my Elite Dangerous time is also very restricted. Much respect for this build as I know how short time is once you become a parent.

Very well executed!

I notice you run a dual GTX980 setup to drive 3x 1080p screens. I am running a triple display 1080p setup on a single GTX970 card @Ultra >60fps. Your setup is a little overkill for running Elite Dangerous, but with a setup like that you can go Ultra on *every* game.

PS. Where did you find the illuminated square switches?

I figured that I would not be wanted to upgrade the computer for awhile, so I went overkill. I also wanted to make sure that I could drive Oculus Rift or StarVR headset.

The square buttons were found on EBAY. It was an auction for Grass Valley video editing console equipment. I removed all of the light bulbs and replaced them with 12V LEDs. For the panels above me, I jumped the lights together, so that a single pair of wires (12vdc) will light them all up. The panel in front of me was done differently. Each switch and light was wired to an IPAC Ultimate board. Really worth the time and effort there.

The 10" tablet was 50$ (shipped). Roccat Power grid is free. So, one can use tablets rather cheaply. The 8" Netbook tablets were more costly (80$ each), but have a glass screen. (I used to have a pair of 7" tablets at first, but they were a little too small and the plastic screens scratched easily.) Power grid is not hard to learn. It takes more time to create the graphics, if you have a particular look you are going for. I wanted the green, fighter-jet, look, so tried to tailor my colors and screens for that.)

I'll make some videos later that show off Voice Attack and how it changes the LED lighting and sounds. Some really nice effects. If the ambient LED lights are blue, I know that power is to 'sys', green='balanced power', yellow='power to engines', red='power to weapons'. Adds to the atmosphere, and I can't help but be reminded how the power is being applied in the ship. I also plan on using a small cluster of 6 leds in the center panel to indicate the power levels to each system much like what is displayed on the screen.

I get home, I grab my coke, my olives, and get ready to settle in for some trading to relax myself before bed.

Then I realize that my copilot is getting too big for the desk.

R+ for the cat Commander :) I've taught my two cats to stay away from the front of the monitor but that doesn't stop them from setting in my lap....interdiction's and landing on planets take on a unique feel when you try to maneuver the ship without disturbing the cat LOLOL
