@Mr-Hyrax 2 in particular - finally saw the Rock Hyrax this morning! Living alongside the African Penguins at Boulder's Beach. They call them Dassies here. They are so cute! They are kind of like Opposite Quokkas cause instead of a manic grin they have permanent resting B-face 😂 so cute I had to get myself a stuffy.

@CharlieXGaming - I eat alll my words! Africa needs a baboon!!! There are signs all over the Cape area about them and warning not to feed them and how to live peacefully alongside them on their land. Saw these ones from a moving car so sorry for terrible pics, they move fast and purposefully! Lots of mums with babies under them or on their backs. The ones here are Chacma baboons, I've totally fallen for them!

Wildlife lovers, make a plan to get to South Africa in your life some time! It's wildlife paradise! I've been ticking off and bookmarking every species seen in this great book, I still have a 5-night stay at a Safari Lodge to come so this is just the preamble!!! Can't believe the richness of these lands and how well wildlife is cared for and respected.

Highlights so far include -

Booped by a Nyala
Breakfast with Hippos
Spotted 3 Cheetah
Saw a Lion roar
Walked with Giraffes
Swam with Penguins
Hugged by an Elephant (a tame rescued orphan)
Waterbuck, Roan Antelope, Kudu, Eland, among other antelopes
White Rhino
Cape Buffalo
Blue Wildebeest
Two kinds of Zebra
Yellow Mongoose and Water Mongoose, rare spots!
Blue Crane and Wattled Crane
Hoopoe Bird
Yellow Weavers
Cape Sugarbird
LOTS of Ostriches

And one that I thought would particularly interest you all here - melanistic impalas!

So much more but no time to list them all!

All wild except the elephant - have also seen wild ones like the one pictured (wild meaning living on game reserves of 10,000+ hectares, next reserve we go to is 36,000 hectares so will be the biggest yet)

Haha something funny on the game drives is when the rangers ask the group questions like "does anyone know what type of antelope this is?" Or "has anyone heard of a caracal?" and everyone is silent so then I pipe up "nyala" or "springbok" and I know I'm like that annoying kid in class with all the answers 😂 but I can't help it! It amazes me how little people know! One person was like "oh a deer!" 😂 and someone thought a Kudu was an ELK !!! 😂😂😂😂 absolute dumb-butts.

The closest thing I've been on to a safari is the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom 🤣
Last time I went, in 2021, The same thing happened. I was the only one on the ride who knew what an Okapi was

Oh it's the "sir/ma'am please remain seated" the ride 😂 That's what I remember most from riding on it several times over the years. People with their phones needing to stand up when the vehicle is moving. I owe the safari ride my interest of animals as I was never a big fan of them at the time seeing often small cages with animals.

I stopped at a local LEGO store today and picked some animal up for a future build.
(Yes, I’m not a kid. Yes, I build LEGO. We exist)
Can you guess the theme?

Man i love lego, but its so ridiculosly expensive. I rebuild alot of my old childhood sets a couple weeks back so i could sell them. Was so much fun and nostalgic
Really cool that there are alternative options like bluebricks.

YOOOOOOOO
That will sell for sooo much. One of those ogres alone is like $30. That whole set is definitely worth a few hundred (in American)

Never heard of blue bricks. From what I see it’s a building software. I use Bricklink Studio, it’s the newest version of the classic Digital Designer which I’ve also used in the past. I designed the MOC (LEGO term for My Own Creation) all on Studio. Then you can order all of the parts. I have one last order that should be coming on monday and then it gives you instructions for the things you‘ve designed, so I can build it then. I’ll be sure to post it here

Oh no. Knock off LEGO. A LEGO fan’s nightmare…
Knock offs are either decent or complete garbage. Though true LEGO enjoyers will definitely scowl at you if they spot a single non-official part 😂
I will admit I do have a few Mega Blocks mixed in with my collection which is currently taking up the majority of my bedroom space.
Whatever you do, don’t ever under any circumstance buy Lepin. It’s the worst of the worst. They directly rip off all of LEGO’s sets part by part and make their own, trashy, cheap bricks that barely stick together.
Though I will say, LEGO is not a cheap hobby. I can only really get into it because it’s really my only hobby besides gaming, which usually isn’t too expensive. Those two bears cost me $50. (~45€)

Honestly alot of those "knockoff lego" are better quality than lego itself 😂. And cheaper at the same time
