So about the cancelled dev stream.

Maybe I'm a bit simple but why remind? If they can't comment in a civil manor, kick them and block them.

Behaving as they are now just generates a vicious cycle. The more of this they do, the more incivility is generated.
Quite right!

There's NO reason for anyone to be using excuses to post uncivil comments about anyone at Frontier, yet there doesn't seem to be much being done to remove/ban said posters/posts.......don't think I'd last a day as a mod, I'd be too strict;)

what is the difference?
to me it is even better. As a non English player I find it much more easy to read a written text than watching a stream in which they provide the same infos.

People were convinced that Odyssey would overhaul the engine and consolidate updates, so fixing a lot of the underlying bugs, and that was why Frontier weren't fixing them with immediacy in the live game. I wasn't sold on that perspective, but some prominent people in the community were of this opinion and encouraging it. Guess it turned out to be grossly inaccurate.
Beyond was suppose to fix everything, that’s why we supposedly had that long period with no content, and then it was Odyssey that was going to fix everything with the “new era”! New era seems much like old era.

Why even bother with dev strems. instead of talking pointless about things noone cares & shallow quotes they should focus on improving the game.

Why not? I find that refreshing.

If somebody gets personal, insulting/harassing/stalking somebody, then that should entail consequences. Almost (?) all of us are adults. We should be held to a higher standard than kids/adolescents.

The one thing which has bewildered me is this: Before Odyssey, Horizons was still in absolutely dire need of work across so many areas. But instead, people demanded fleet carriers, space legs, all this extra "stuff" that, ultimately, didn't fix any of the core gameplay loops.

When the core game was already bug-ridden and carrying major features which are simply broken outright, what did people really expect beyond more of the same from a DLC? But being one of the ones who didn't want Odyssey, and wanted those issues fixed, I distinctly remember being browbeat on the forums that Odyssey would fix everything.

Well, here we are, and we got exactly what was asked for. You can't expand on rubble.

Yeah, I actually do remember it. They're also the same people demanding walking in ships, which will be equally dull. I have no idea why people thought flying around in a taxi or FPS would be a good idea, but here we are.
Erm... who demanded fleet carriers? What I recall is Fdev suddenly going "shiny new thing is Fleet Carriers", followed by community trying to ask what they were good for, at least make them live up to their name in some sense, why are they all about working to keep up something with no use? We had to beg to make them relevant, all over again. I guess that is easily mistaken for interest in the concept.

Today Fleet Carriers are a scourge on the system map and nagivation interfaces, with a very minor role in long jumps for explorers and goods (of the one allowed type among... how many now? 8?) trading.

There's a whole bunch of people going "next thing will fix everything" for sure. There are also a whole lot of unfixed issues. But I really don't see major features from Fdev's side even resembling what players have asked for, particularly Odyssey (aka ground legs) included. We only rarely get little boons like the Type 9 at long last getting a cargo hold to make it even halfway competitive to trade in, its specialty.

Hmmm... there's 5 pages (250 hits)... let alone all the other requests for capital ships.

And that's just a pretty basic search for "carrier" before 2018. It's been a requested thing ever since the game went live.

That FC's might not reflect what players asked for in entirity is irrelevant. "Big ship that carries ships that other players dock at and jumps places" pretty much sums up FCs and what people have asked for. I've never understood why you'd want something like that but hey, FD delivered just that.
