So............have you died yet?

Died twice. Hit a type 9 while entering the letterbox too fast and hit a python in combat.

Had quite a few close calls, boost into asteroid while mining, caught in docking cage, docking without permission, broken canopy and combat with anacondas. Like the fact that when you do get into trouble there's still a good chance of getting out alive.

Boost button is number 1 cause of my oh s#%* moments, even though it has yet to kill me. Keep hitting it instead of the reverse button, if I remap now will probably be even worse.

During Gamma I was killed 3 times in total by Master or Dangerous rated pirates who interdicted me. On these occasions I was in my starter sidewinder with little by way of upgrades slotted. Since release, I have managed to kill 2 guys who interdicted me. I've yet to die since release.. lets hope I've not put a curse on me for pointing that out!! lol. To be honest I don't go looking for trouble and I'm not into pirating or bounty hunting at this stage.

I remember the first guy who interdicted me on release day, who was also in a sidewinder and rated competent. Based on previous gamma experience I was like 'Ok lets just run, i'm probably dead if I don't..' and right enough, my shields starting depleting rapidly. Then for some reason I just turned and started firing back, eventually out manoeuvring him and then managing to kill the guy before my hull went below 60%. I was well chuffed.. :)

beware the wounded animal as they say..

I died about 60-80 times in Alpha, probably 20+ times in Beta, 4-5 times in Gamma. I've yet to die since release but there's time yet ;)

Embarrased to admit it, but ive also lost my Hauler.
Did some mining yesterday, filled 8 of the 10 cargo holds with some juicy ores. Logged off at the belt and went to the pub.....Blame it on xmas or a good friday night out...Logged back in late lastnight..

Wife bought me a mug of coffee, just in time to see me hit the boost button, and face planted myself into a big asteroid.."pop" !!! Her comment summed it up for me, as i looked at the screen in disbelief at my stupidity.
"Were you not supposed to go round that big rock thingy?.. perhaps you shouldnt fly drunk in future"
So now going to log on with a hangover, and pick up a new Hauler..and back to the belt!

Not died yet (famous last words!!!) and having a blast ... literally! Have already been interdicted 4 times by NPC's, saw off 3 of them in short order in my Startwinder (no upgrades) and one bugged out. One of the kills was a Cobra. Got about 10k cr as bounties.

I've also had one player interdiction ... he just wanted to say "Hello"! He said there wasn't much in game chat going on. Then we went our separate ways .... not even activating hardpoints!

Currently up to an Adder and grabbing missions and profit wherever possible!

See you in space, Commanders!

Auto-destruction once for me.

Closest call however: when I was coming back from the Witch Head Nebula. Jumped between two suns, felt like a french toast.

Twice since the start of gamma - the first one was before the announcement that there wouldn't be a wipe. Deliberately wanted to smash my canopy to demonstrate the (now fixed) bug with the orbital lines still displaying when it's smashed - was a bit faster than necessary.

The second time, I was drunk and underestimated the Asps inertia after having switched from my Viper. Didn't irk me though - the death penalty in this game is ridiculously low - still hoping for ironman.

Most annoying was leaving a station, as I hit the letter box a type 9 comes lunbering in. Try to get far over to the side, but got caught on the front end - I was just outside the station, but that lumbering behemoth pushed me back into the station, giving me a trespass warning - 15 secs later, using lateral and vertical thrust, I managed to dislodge my ship, swung around, made a run for the exit, and there's another large ship behind coming in. I cleared the grill, pulled up hard, clipped the second ship which barreled my out of control to get snagged on the grill/nav light prongs at the entry point. Next thing I know, the station unloads everything on me.

My first death was on first day of Gamma - I interdicted another player, we started shooting eachother, and ended up with both getting blown up by crashing into each other. Was funny.

Bought a type 9 in beta so they were cheap. Loaded up a full 400 ton load. Forgot how long it takes for the type 9 to slow down after cutting thrusters. Bang right into the station wall. I almost cried ;P

Oh yes! Several times.

The first was leaving a star port, didn't notice the 'something' (still don't know what he was flying) behind me, pew, pew, pew, and I'm in my escape capsule. After that I learnt to watch my 6 and how to usemy guns.

Best escape, almost through the docking slot when I realised the red warning about trespass was for me. Quick reverse and away, and a docking request sent. Phew!!!!

First time : Out of fuel in a sidey => Autodestruct

Second time : Trying a "no shield run" in a Cobra, overshot the docking pad an slammed in the station wall => Facepalmdestruct

I've died once, I was interdicted whilst still in my starter sidewinder, still newish to the game. Whatever/whoever interdicted me hit me with enough firepower to kill me in one hit.

Bored running same trade back and forth,
Lined up to enter station and got a warning coz I forget to ask for docking permition.....I stab at the reverse thrust and my lumbering Lakon slows and eventualy starts to reverse back out, I guess I was a little off line because I got stuck in the toaster, franticly try to get out, im full 112 units of indium but its too late they destroy me.

To add to the insult of the 400cr fine for tresspass I got 700 fine and Wanted for.. dunno what for exacly, blocking the entry with my dead ship maybe
