So the attention to sound detail is mind boggling. (This game is better with headphones)

It goes without saying that JWE has some great sound effects, but it is really astounding how much detail goes into the sound alone.

I play on the PS4 and would normally hear the game from the TV. Only recently have I started to use headphones to play PS4 games such as Tetris Effect, I also tried on Horizon Zero Dawn and it was way better than what the TV could provide. Now I just listened to JWE with headphones on and it has enriched my experience.

There are very subtle audio layers that were too quiet to hear from the TV, such as the sounds of leaves rustling, bugs buzzing on the grass, frogs croaking near the water, ACU personal talking in the ACU building, the game is really detailed! One thing that caught me off guard was when I was hovering near the fossil lab as the edmontosaurus got a viable genome, an announcer's voice came from the lab stating "viable dinosaur genome has been achieved". It only took me two years to hear that! Now I am going to 100% a genome and want to hear what the new announcement could be.

So I will say this, this game is better with headphones on for the best sound experience. And to other PS4 players, you could connect your headphones to the Dualshock controller to get the most responsive sound possible. For now, honestly well done to the sound department 👌

My all time credo: All you need for ED and a good immersion boost are some decent headphones and a headtracker. Much cheaper than VR and also more comfortable.
Some very wise words!
I don't think I ever want to get rid of these headphones. They are so much better in sound delivery than what a TV could deliver. Such a shame I only ever got to experience it now that the next generation of consoles is tantalizingly close. But these audio queues are stunning nonetheless 🎶

Also, the struthiomimus makes a razzy nasal breathing noise as it runs 😍

I posted in the wrong forum (just realized, sorry). But this only can mean that Frontier's sound department is top notch - across all their titles.
In ED my headphones (Teufel, Aureol Real) had the same ear-opening effect as VR is an eye-opener. I'm not a VR user (by now I know how it looks like) but if I had to choose between VR and good audio I would take the latter.
No worries! Welcome to the Jurassic World Evolution forum then! :)
Really glad to still hear your thoughts on sound quality from ED. Sound immersion is a great way to get invested into the game and I really like how this is a shared quality among Frontier's other games. I am looking forward to try out VR one day as well when the time comes, really glad how far gaming tech has come as a whole. 👍
