SMH. I hate to see this regurgitated over and over in these forums.
Unlike Horizons PC/Console, Odyssey is its own base line. It did not share assets with Horizons. On PC, they weren't even compatible. When Odyssey released, all work went into that version of the game. Horizons received minimal maintenance updates. Now that consoles are gone, there's still Horizon PC. Because the two are not compatible, they will simply just stop supporting Horizons PC. Odyssey, in the state of affairs that people have been used to now, will become the single baseline going forward. Doing this forces more money in ED's pocket by making players holding out on Horizons, pay for the upgrade or simply go away like console.
I'll say it again, there was very minimal work in maintaining the Horizon's PC/Console baseline. When these go away, it doesn't mean that "extra" personnel will be available out of thin air to somehow spring Odyssey to glory. Most likely if the performance updates have slowed and/or stopped, Odyssey performance now is what you're going to get. For nearly a year now, Odyssey has been the lead development platform.
