So tomorrow we should get these then..

I agree with some of your points but this arguement I see scattered everywhere 'Is it perfect, no, no game ever is at launch', really puzzles me to why people would even accept this? Have the corporations over the past decade actually brainwashed people to believe this is an acceptable standard?

It's the equivalent of ordering a new car, having it arrive only to discover your windows are missing, with customer service saying 'Don't worry sir! We will have them with you in a few month!', you would be absolutely outraged. It baffles me that in this modern day game industries can get away with this. I love this game, but am sourly disapointed in some features of this game that have been half polished or not placed in game yet. I personally believe this game should have held strong in beta for a few more months, but the xmas rush and 2014 release promise seen to that not happening.

Merr, either way I will still play it and love it (damn you FD *shakes fist*).
Having been involved in applications development I can assure you it is nothing like buying a new car.

Modern computer games are now more complex than all the computer systems on the ground and in the space shuttle combined, that were once used to get astronauts in to orbit. Further, Frontier have been open about the fact that their intent all along was to continue development post launch. The only list of content ever promised for launch was published on the games kick-starter, and it is all here, perhaps not in the way some players hoped, but it is here none the less.

If 4 players is the scope of the game you want, you really bought into the wrong project mate. Also - to expect a beta to work perfectly everytime on an individual basis? Bit silly too.

Newsflash: we are in gamma right now, not beta.

And 4 players in one instance is more then i have ever seen in ED. You saw 32 players in same instance???

I have, playing in the Eranin conflict zone when it was available. There are any number of videos over on you tube showing the conflict zones, they are not exactly hard to find.

It baffles me at how people look at Elite, a mind bogglingly complex and big game that after countless years the general sim buying public has been begging for, and use the victim card crying about broken promises to validate the fact that they conceived a different game in their heads.

I can help. You do not care so much about PvP/multeplayer component, do you? That's why it buffles you so much.

Ya and Im sure you will be there tomorrow to b**** & whine when its not quite as you expect. Oh good lord..I will just avoid the forums for the next 3 mos...

So tomorrow we will get all this then, as i don't see all of this in the game just now.

take part in multiplayer co-op mission alliances, (multi-player is poor just now)
free-for-all group battles and team raids to bring down planetary economies, (sort of happening now in Lugh)
cross dangerous space lanes (not really dangerous yet)
The triumvirate superpowers of the Empire, Federation and Independents will dominate human space and constantly skirmish to outmanoeuvre one another on their frontiers. (seen no factions v faction stuff yet)
Head out to the far reaches of space and discover amazing sights. (nothing much new seen yet)
Multiplayer:And the best part - you can do all this online with your friends (not just now we can't)

Why do i expect to see all this, because it is stated on the mercenary pack advert to be in the release version.

Firstly that is a severly unfair comparison, 'Modern computer games are now more complex than all the computer systems on the ground and in the space shuttle combined, that were once used to get astronauts in to orbit.', same could be said for a modern phone.

Secondly you seemed to have missed the constant points on the kickstarter page then that excalimed 'with the ability to rendezvous with friends as you choose', personally for me (and a lot of others it seems), this is just not an option, only a few times I have been succesful in getting within the same instance as a friend. And my comparison point had nothing to do with how complex something is, nothing at all. It was a simple comparison on ordering a different kind of product and not getting the full package promised. And how we don't seem to hold a gaming company to the same standard, a point which you proved in your post alone.

There are indeed a few mentions on the kickstarter page that have yet made an appearence or plan too. Such as 'hundreds of nps ships in the same instance as you'. Ship naming is not here nor any mention of it in the near future (i like to get immserive with my ship :'( ),. And most importantly, previously said, is fluid multiplayer, teaming up with friend etc etc, this feature at the moment is a lucky draw at best (from my experience). I wanted to game with friends as I am currently in love with this game, but for me and a few buddies, that is being put off for the time being.

Multiplayer - That is the sole thing of which this game has been catered around. The one thing I have a major complain about with this game. Yes it's multiplayer, but not in the sense as which they promised, a crucial point on which they promised.

How many players do you usually see in Sol or Lugh these days?

Your first mistake was assuming I would be anywhere near sol or Lugh. Regardless, how many conflict zones have you seen in the area? Exactly, they do not make a comeback until the event system starts up. When they do, players will have more reason to visit the same events and systems in game, increasing available player numbers in those areas. Further, just how many of the 140k backers have been logging in to play in your time zone given they likely played the game to death earlier in development, with the game set to launch tomorrow, you have no idea. Nor do you have any idea how many are waiting to play tomorrow having pre ordered since, none of us have, wait until launch.

Now if you will excuse me, the game is back up and I am logging into play as I have no desire to dance back and forth because a few pedants are unhappy with the game.

Did not stop you starting it off by using a new car as an analogy though did it?

No! I do not, because Elite wasn't advertised as a PvP heavy game, I was never told there were going to be group missions, or corporations, or guilds, I was never told about PvP modes, and moreover, I was assured I'd be able to play it by myself, which I can. Again, one thing is to be bummed at planned features that can't be included (and that were subject to changes in the first place), another is to interpret whatever the hell you want and then be surprised than the game doesn't fit your stretch of imagination.

Because that analogy fits with the sense of my point, I buy a new game expecting the features promised and working correctly, just as I would buy a new car and expect the features promised and working correctly.

I just bought the pre-order yesterday off the elite store. Are you guys saying that the stuff it said on the features list that comes with the merc package, doesn't actually come with it???

Can I at least party with a friend?

I've seen a damn sight more than 4 players in a single instance this very evening.

Without meaning to be personal, I think you (and others) should relax a little. Multiplayer isnt all it could or should be. It basically works, but could be better.

We know that work is coming to improve the multiplayer elements. Constantly complaining about how you don't think it's good enough add's no value to anyone's experience and probably just adds to your own frustration when people dont agree with you.
