Some improvements for the next update :)

Just a few ideas I had for the next patch release.
When passing light speed in super cruise, a brief rainbow or prism effect on or around all bright objects, red to violet when accelerating, violet to red when decelerating, just a small red shift/blue shift effect to prettify the super cruise experience, or maybe have this effect throughout super cruise, might be a head ache modifying the palette for this but it's just an idea.

HUD pop up toggle option for stars with in range, so you hit the toggle button to show all stars within range of your ship, (stars would be visible like planets in your HUD), point, target and engage, just thought this would be more cool than scrolling down through the target panel to pick your destination, which is a pain sometimes.

No pre-launch platform rotating for outpost and surface ports, does'nt matter which way you leave, there's no mail box you need to be facing when you launch, you just up and go without having to wait an extra 7 tedious seconds for your ship to be turned around.

Also, I had this idea for a huge cylinder like ship (not Thargoid) adrift in a nebula somewhere in the far side of the galaxy, something similar to Clarke's Rama but huge, hundreds of km long that you can land on/in and explore with the SRV. Only a seed of an idea atm, haven't thought up much of a story for that yet.

New materials or, more accurately, elements for extra special lvl 5 mods that can only be found on the far side of the galaxy, Polonium is so passe now, would like to see some new undiscovered materials. :)

Yeah, so, just some half baked ideas for the next update. :)

Sounds like a nice idea - so long as it's not too intrusive.

This gets to be a problem near the core, when there can be hundreds, potentially thousands of stars within range - especially of a 60LY Anaconda with a Neutron Star boost.

I always select 'Enter Hanger' when I land.
The ship turns around while I'm doing whatever I need to do in the station and by the time I hit launch I'm pointing the right direction and ready to roll.
Seems to be an unnecessary change.

The galaxy part of ED is a strongly simulated (rather than gamey). New elements that don't occur inside the Bubble would need some new kind of physics to explain them, together with an explanation of why those physics only occur on the far side of the galaxy.
