Some quick advice for an AX combat NOOB please!

What I've found helpful with update 14 is "Added an optional keybind for the Shutdown Field Neutraliser module" now I don't need to switch firegroups to deal with shutdowns. They still catch me out occasionally but nowhere near as much as before.

For caustic damage, I use decontamination limpets. If my shields are low or down and I am under attack silent running plus repeated boosts is another option.

I keep going back to an AX Type 10. Great against scouts but I've not found a way to deal with interceptors well.
My shielded Chieftain hasn't been out for a while, the bulk of my AX is in a shielded Challenger.
I have an unshielded Krait Mk II but considering reverting to a shield.

I find Salvation Shard cannons easiest for cyclops (solo) or in a group where other CMDR's are present. I was OK with Gaus cannons, not got to grips with the Salvation Plasma chargers - if I go back to my Krait I'll be practicing more with them.

Keep thinking about Guardian hull reinforcement but obtaining module blueprints is a struggle (countdown time has beaten me recently, even if pylons are all up and ready to shoot before I start).
