I'm all for players having the ability to manually toggle between King/Queen or Duke/Duchess, but for the love of crap man stop attaching titles to genitals.

Gender is Man/Woman/Other.

Sex is Male/Female/Both/Neither. It literally translates as dong wielder or vagina wielder or both or none.

If players want to change their title, they shouldn't have to jump through any hoops or prove their genitals through invasive scan.

Agreed
But the point is to have a choice rather than be forced into male titles. I just put it down to gynophobia in the empire.

What about those of us who don't want to be forced to make a choice? What should the default be? [???][???][???]

That's a horrible question. hah. As things stand, I really doubt that a change is imminent so there's no point in arguing the case. Titles, are well, just titles. A foreman on a factory floor can be a woman. I personally know a nursing Matron who is very male. Male midwives are you guessed it, still midwives.
In game the only rank or title that has any real meaning is Combat rank because that is the one everyone can see, and in space the only one that you're judged by. Until that changes, then the argument is moot.

It's a good point. Maybe we should have a whole new list of ranks, with completely new titles, all of which are gender neutral. :)

Or... Maybe we should all help the Federation and Alliance to get rid of this backward Empire completely. Though personally that may cause me issues, as I'm allied with the Empire... Ah well. :)

It's currently male, both in character chest and faction ranks. All we want is an option, that way the sexist men who think that equality is all about crew cut lesbians in dungarees can continue to swim in the shallow end of the gene pool without needing to toggle it off, and those of us who prefer the correct terms for our character can toggle the switch.

Can't say I've ever been a fan of "King", "Duke" or anything like that, didn't seem to fit right. I would have though that military ranks would have been the way to go and for them to be attained by everyone and would prefer that.
I don't mind either way though.

Allow a CMDR to choose which they want and I think it's great. As an aside, as a proud Canadian, I'll challenge that a Queen has any less prestige :)

I would agree with this. It is also the most likely to happen if anything was to happen as it would be the quickest to do (I would guess). Maybe you could argue that the gender connotations no longer are linked to the titles, but I don't know the lore and if it would support that.

Additionally, if you make people choose, it just means people who don't want to chose now have to make a choice when before they didn't. So in trying not to alienate one group of people, you end up alienating another.

You obviously have completely no idea about the point i'm making. I explained where the problem was adequately so i'm not going to repeat myself.

Don't make a point without backing it up. Saying it is ridiculous is of no use to anyone.

However... maybe you'd understand it better if... Suggest you were given a choice between too things that are wrong. You must chose one. Well i'd rather not have to chose either.

Holo-me made me uncomfortable and the idea of having gendered titles does too. The idea of the title being linked to the gender of your holo-me makes me a little more uncomfortable tbh and I'm likely to just avoid that faction now really. Though at the same time I can imagine that the group of people that would have an issue with that is so small that nobody would notice. Still, I think it would just be better to swap out the titles for gender neutral ones.
