Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

So assuming we got support throughout 2024 with a final pack in spring 2025, what themes would yall pick for this year?
Not saying it happens, just curios
Really exciting ideas of:
  • Latin america with a tropical rainforest theme
  • Warm weather animals with a desert theme or african theme - maybe a safari pack
  • Overly themed pack no one expects like domestics
  • Himalayas/mountain pack
Feels familar

Basically yeah although instead of domestics i prefer Coastal or Polar.

Yesss was waiting for this conversation to come up,

For Spring, a Coastal Pack featuring the mighty Walrus, the expert fisher Brown Pelican, adorable Sea Otter, tiny Atlantic Puffin and the tiny and mighty Coconut Crab. Comes with coastal scenery (beach themed)

For Summer, a Latin America Animal Pack with the exact roster I posted earlier, the spectacular Spectacled Bear, the elusive Ocelot, brightly coloured Golden Lion Tamarin, swift South American Coati, tree trekking Black handed Spider monkey, powerful Greater Rhea, high climbing Vicuña and the rainforest expert, Emerald Tree Boa.

For Fall, an Alpine Pack with mountain and Himalayan scenery, with an animal roster of the adorably grumpy Pallas Cat, scavenging Gelada, high climbing Markhor, Japanese Giant Salamander and the unique Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.

For Winter, a Scrublands Animal Pack, an animal pack focused on semi arid bushlands type environments. The packs roster consists of the powerful Secretary Bird, vocal Hamadryas Baboon, scavenging Honey Badger, odd Gerenuk, the beast himself Southern Ground Hornbill, unique Arabian Oryx, elusive Serval as well as the intimating King Cobra.

Edit: My bad, didn’t realize it was just the themes you were looking for lol

Scrublands/Savannah/Safari is also one of my most wanted themes. Really like the roster although id change the baboon and oryx for an indian antelope and monkey

Most likely thing to happen it looks like since frontier is tied up with the console release currently. Since the steamdb still hasn't seen an update, march is out of the question.
IF THEY RELEASE THE DLC WITH THE CONSOLE, SCREENSHOT THIS, BECAUSE I'LL MAKE A VIDEO AND DRESS IN DRAG AND DO THE HULA!!!!!!
OH COME ON! I ALREADY PUT A DOWN PAYMENT ON HULA DANCE LESSONS!

It's fine if you found the packs good but it is clear given how they sell less that they aren't as appealing, and it's not really that difficult to see why. While wetlands, grasslands, etc. had odd arguably "odd" picks they compensated with pretty outstanding newcomers. Meanwhile 2023 all consistently have a pick that everyone agrees should have been something else.

Besides that not only that but Eurasia and Arid are probably worst animal packs out there. And worst of all, it wasn't even hard to make them good, they just decided to be lame.
I loved both the Arid and Eurasia packs. And packs are selling worse than before because of the high ticket animals that were missing from the game originally have already been added. There's nothing left to add to the game that's going to match the general appeal of things like the capybara, platypus, otters, emu, wallaby, etc. A game like this is always going to have a shelf life because at a certain point you have added all of the animals people care about.

In essence i agree, although i think there still are some like the walrus for example.
And with a game like PZ your not really looking at a general audience i feel like. To play the game you have to have atleast some interest in animals

Except for a god damn baboon 😡 Come on frontier.

Monkeys (especially SA ones and baboons) and birds (especially African and SA ones) have been at the top of it pretty much since I've started a year and a half ago. I think the demand is clear. Still, we've gotten nothing on that front for years. Going straight down the big list doesn't and didn't actually cover the most demanded types of animals.
  • When I look at this, I see high demand for monkeys, birds, a few other South American animals, and a tree kangaroo.
    • Monkeys:
      • New World Monkeys have the highest demand. Nearly 90% of lists included at least one. Tamarins, howler monkeys, and spider monkeys are the most requested. The howler monkey is a top 10 animal. Other species, especially squirrel monkeys, have some traction, too.
      • Baboons/geledas have an extremely high demand for a particular group of monkey. The Hamadryas baboon is a top 10 animal.
      • For other old world monkeys, the most popular is the guereza. There is also some demand for an Indian monkey and the Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey.
    • Birds:
      • There is extremely high demand for more birds from Africa. The secretary bird is a top 10 animal. Some wading birds are particularly popular as well.
      • There is high demand for birds from South America, with the rhea and pink trio taking the most votes.
      • There is moderate demand for pelicans, Asian pheasants, and waterfowl, especially a duck.
    • Other South American Animals:
      • Coati: This is a top 10 animal, even with the votes split. Nearly 80% of voters want one.
      • Spectacled Bear: This is a top ten animal.
      • Ocelot: This is the most requested of the small cats, and still has a high position on both lists.
      • Mara and other small mammals: There is some demand for some smaller, non-primate species from SA. The most popular is the mara, but lesser anteaters and bush dogs have some demand, too.
    • Tree Kangaroo: The demand for this one is actually higher than the coati with the combined votes. 79% of voters on my list want one.
  • There is moderate demand for an echidna and some non-SA carnivorans, especially the walrus, ABB, and some other small cats.
  • I see a lower demand for ungulates, with a handful of standout favorites (musk ox, markhor, blackbuck, muntjac?) taking most of the votes.
  • Not otherwise mentioned but also with some demand are canids, the hyrax, a honey badger, and reptiles, especially the perentie, Nile crocodile, and spurred tortoise.

Is it not weird that the only birds we have gotten in the last year are from Australia and Europe, the 2 continents that needed birds the least… watch us get a North American one next 😭
