Gotta say, while waiting, thinking and especally walking my dog more in my local parks instead of the forest or the riverside due to my car being repaired currently, aswell as having been studying the last month inside a botanical garden i really really want a gardening pack.
Ik ik europe allready is in a very priviliged position in the game regarding plants, but i just noticed how many staples we are lacking, with the worst one being lavendar by far.
Its not just a very pretty plant but also synonymous to beautiful yet ecological gardening due to how insect friendly these plants are, providing lots of food for many polinators.

Another one im sorely missing are herb gardens, another great tool for education that feels right at place in a petting zoo/farm inspired area with many plants that would work well both as detailing plants, as for example a pot of basil and parsley in a "kitchen" would fit really well, but also as just general ground coverage similar to nettles, propaply my most used plant in the game that isnt grass. Thyme, basil, parsley, rosemary and many more herbs used traditionally in cooking, medecine and other purposes would imo be a great addition, especally if we get a plant pedia to actually learn about all that.

Another easy culprit would be japanese gardens. I might be biased as my city has one of the largest population of japanese people outside of japan, but they are an iconic style of gardening thats currently hard to replicate, not just because the exact plants typically used are missing but also because we do not really have cut trees in the game besides some rather ugly cartoonish edges. Bringing some of the simple cut trees typically of japanese gardens into the game would really open up our possibilitys without having to frankenstein trees together while also expanding on the plant selection of temperate and colder asia. It would also be a good shot to expand the eastern theme from the base game a bit.

Another important aspect are botanical gardens, which are basicly cheating.
As the equivalent to plants what a zoo is with animals, botanical gardens are wild cards which would open such a pack up to literally everything, but my favored 2 extra options would be more desert and more tropical plants, as both sections are kinda one note, especally tropical houses could really use some more plants.

Animalwise, youd might say there are no options but i digress.
First of the most obvious choice for a garden inspired pack with a japanese garden subfocus would be the koi.
Yes i know its a fish and stuff, but im talking a gardening pack, im dreaming anyways so lets just dream a little harder allright?
The koi to me is the perfect standalone fish as it has a clear yet varried purpose of populating ponds with some beautiful live while also not conflicting with anything else and especally not needing anything else.
Let me put it like that. If we get a shark, what do you do? You build an aquarium right? But if we have just one shark thats kinda sad.
Now lets say we get a whole coral reef focused pack, a nice exhibit, black tipped reef shark, lion fish, mooray, parrot fish, whatever. Great now you got exactly 5 kinds of fish to choose from, half of which potentially working better as exhibits, which is a bad sign. Imo any kind of aquarium would need time to be worthwhile and also due to the more enclosed space and nature of tanks most likly harder to actually make work.
Now lets look at the koi. What do with koi? You put it in a pond. Thats it. Nothing else required, just this one fish and it covers every kind of pond and can do it alone. I have seen them in hippo ponds, gorilla ponds, orangutan ponds, japanese gardens with the upper picture featuring them and just ponds.
They could also come with a more basic brown color variant to look like a more normal karp for anyone who would want that.
And navigation for ponds is pretty much coverd, just have it deep enough and if a beaver can swim and dive in it, a koi will be able to do that aswell.
And for why i want them, comeone, its a fish, a beautiful fish, a fish with the potential for many colormorphs and potential genetic shakeups and its even domestic.
Like, duh, i dont think i need to explain that.

Another no brainer would be some kind of waterfowl and while the canada goose technically is
the overlord of our parks, a more geographically fitting one would be the egyptian goose. Africas plantscape is severly underrated and underdeveloped in the game, so id hope that we get some nice new representation like paradise bird flowers or victoria lillys and one animal that covers them all would be our dear goose.
Also doesnt hurt that theres a bonded pair living in the botanical garden of my uni next to the canadageese who run the place.
Its beautiful and distinct color and pattern, aswell as the fact that its connected to egypt make them just even more of a snack.

Pack not stacked enough yet?
Lets introduce a tamarin to this. South americas rainforests are some of the most biodiverse places on the planet, so featuring some plants is a no brainer and why not someone that fits perfectly into the size requirements to be part of a tropical house or could even free roam?
For the picture i picked the golden lion tamarin as they are the most popular but any would work for this really.

Lastly, whats a garden without a squirrel? Red squirrel would be my choice for its large range and actually being found in zoos as squirrel rescues are a common thing.
Europe is also currently lacking a climber so a small agile rodent like the squirrel would help alot to allow for basicly a temperate monkey/bird enclosure to be filled by tiny hyperactive nutjobs.

For the exhibit im legally required to choose the honey bee, but id implement them in a new way. Instead of a box or a walk through box, instead the player could put down a "bee spawner" which would be able to spawn bee models flying around on predetermined loops in random places in a radius around it. Inside that radius, the bees could interact with flowers, bee enritchment (which could include the flowers) which could be placed inside the radius for the bees to be able to teleport there and do their enritching bee activitys and the initial spawner nest. If it works this would also be great as an option for atleast the butterflies. For the bees themself, i wouldnt make each buyable but only queens which would be in the nest (maybe watchable lika through the burrow cam?), with the size gene determening how large of a swarm she can birth.

And thats my current wish fullfillment pack!
Is it gonna happen? Not a chance but hey a man can dream am i right?
