I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
LOL, they are still selling it? And its clear they have no idea when (or even if) they will add modding, but are still selling it as though it will be available close to release?

What is release anyway?

Apparently they are.

I always thought this was rich, too:

Change your game 'handle' for the low, low price of $5.

...I mean can you imagine the fallout if they came out to admit they cannot make it a MMO?....

Oddly yes. I just bring to mind the 'mild upset' when Frontier revealed that there was 'no offline mode', and raise it by the power of NMS's post-launch 'hangover'.

In the meantime, the SCDF will explain that the MMO content is the forum, and that this was the plan all along.

Buy an Idris.

indeed esp for those who bought big ships with the express intent of guild play. For me tho it would be perfect. I am not saying i want it to happen even if it makes the game better for me... selfishness aside, that really would not be fair for all those who bought in in good faith. (I use that argument against those who bought in and now want to gimp the modes in elite, so it would be wildly hypocritical to be that guy for star citizen).

but I cant lie..... much like when your football team is playing your direct rival and the ref gives you a penalty which is completely awful decision. You know its wrong, you know its unfair, but screw it, you are still happy.

I saw a vid of someone playing it, it looks promising, and with the numbers up to 60 per instance.

Honestly I get the hate, and even feel some of it myself but, possibly despite itsself, the game is improving.

The game is never going to tick all the CRoberts goals, but as someone who is just wanting another good space game, for me it doesnt need to.

well given how small the SC universe is, it probably wont be that difficult.

For ED I got a physical map, but it is actually quite hard to make out much and is only a tiny part of the bubble. (it is still framed in my man cave however ;) )

They need to update it with the new discoveries going on. :)

They are trying to incentivize people to get in the PTU it seems. I have not tried it, as I downloaded it last night before bed, but, got sucked into work today :-(
The 60 player cap doesn't seem to make any difference...except a couple more folks leaping and sprinting about all over the place. Port Tressler is busy since it's the initial spawn point, doesn't seem any more laggy than usual. It's the same build as the PU...so exactly the same bugs and instability but chucking more players into it per instance...I'd rather they concentrated on fixing the buggy PU mess first instead of faffing about with server caps

Anyway, the usual collection of $50 child warriors have invaded the PTU to go fly the big boys toys for free and do the usual firing missiles at everything that moves or looks like a ship...back to the exact same build in the PU for me... with exactly the same bugs but 10 less players to spam fire missiles at me as I leave a hangar.

I read through the last few pages of this thread. I'm glad I didn't put more money than I did into SC (about $120 total back in the Kickstarter for Star Citizen)! I know people who have put a lot more money than that into Star Citizen.

Well, they're not getting a single cent until the game is good and released. If it releases, that is.

It won't...save your money for something with a new release tag on it...since it seems to be an important factor these days. Cyberpunk 2077 is out in April, might be a better and much safer bet ;)

You can change your handle once for free...if anyone has ever had an Xbox live account (hardly likely on here I know), it's not much different except Microsoft charge $8 for the same function ;)

If you really need a space sci fi game but, as stated you want a game released or at least stable there's a few options for you depending on flavor and taste.

Of course there's the usual big names tossed about like Elite Dangerous (we're on these very forums), No Man's Sky, Warframe
The more niche and less all purpose like Space Engineers, Kerbal Space Program, Noctis
The "not even 3d" games like Star Sector, FTL, Star Flight
The "not even games" like Space Engine

There's a lot out there, tbh, and it's a good time to enjoy Sci Fi games. I will never understand those who seemingly herald SC as some sort of beacon of gaming hope for something that, for all intents and purposes, is doing quite well thank you very much. You can get some mighty good space/sci fi experiences, some even in VR, for a very low bar of entry, as little as free in some cases, and I'm confident there's more on the way as we plow headfirst into the roaring twenties redux. Hell there's even a Paranoia game that got released. An actual game. I like this reality.

Any date for Rebel for steam? Its on my "list" ^^

Everspace 1 was too grindy for me, the graphics were nice and I thought the skill-tree / reset mechanics would do the trick (works for most clickers I play) but I refunded it after an hour...just wasnt fun. Everspace 2 looks awesome but yeah, dont think so.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one game I might just preorder, yes. Pretty safe bet since it's CD Project Red that's making the game. Otherwise, I have literally hundreds of games that I haven't played on Steam alone, I have the luxury problem of having too many games! First-world problem, but still a problem. :)
