It is a bit different. Spectrum is (or at least attempts to be) integrated with the game. I add you as a contact in Spectrum and you will be a contact in game as well (at least this used to work, no idea if it still does). No third party app required.

Now is it worth the money spent to do all this...... I don't care that much about installing 3rd party stuff. Some people freak out. Either way it is a nice to have.

The guide "Guillaume" has been "all around the verse and seen just about everything"

He's probably spent hours in Quantum drive visiting all the planets in one system and might have played this Alpha for as much as 1 evening I'll wager. The old space dog has seen it all from Stanton to..Stanton. he's seen it all, the big city the train, the NPCs that stand around, the delivery mission.. why I bet he's a seasoned miner having spent many a moment doing all the tier one mining there is to do...then theres the caves and craters as big as Skyrim. The stories he must tell.

There is already grumblings about the Carrack and if the Pisces snub craft it gets is the regular C8 version or the "superior" (ie, different) C8X Pisces.

The torches and pitchforks are already out.

We all know what's going to happen...backers who have had the Carrack since concept will get the peasant canoe version, new war bond malarkey money version actually has an engine, working doors and elevators and comes with a complimentary pair of Chris Roberts monogrammed gold budgie smugglers ;)

Quite simply, Ci¬G needs the new cash to stay afloat...and the Carrack is 90% technical debt. You can guarantee several versions of said Carrack with only the new money variants coming with anything other than sub standard modules and fittings.
