In my eyes, the game is evolving pretty good. They are getting there...

An interesting observation.

What makes exploration viable?

Having something to discover, so you want to explore. When NMS first launched, and there was a large uproar, someone said it best. "No one wants to explore, they want to discover."

Though I try to avoid generalized blanket statements like this... surely there are some people up legit do enjoy the act of just going from place to place "exploring" I do agree with the sentiment. Most people explore in the hopes of finding something, and it's the discovery that makes the journey meaningful. Without that, to many, it was all just wasted time.

One of the important aspects of "exploration" gameplay is going to places no one else has been to. There is this feeling in ED and arguably in NMS, but in SC every place has been visited by thousands of other players before since the "universe" consisting of 4 planets and their moons is so small...

As small as it is...there's still stuff to find on the surface of moons etc. The idea that exploration consists of finding new complete systems is never going to exist in SC, even at it's most hopeful.
The main object of exploration in SC is small scale like finding resources, mapping jump points and exploring POI's...if we ever get to that point of course.

but one question arise.
What the hell are they playing?
What is the meaning to have an org of 70 players to do what?
One of them will probably be a self appointed Grand Master Chair Leg,with his immediate underlings whom he shows favor and grants some title that basically means they get to lord it over everyone else,at least one of them will want to be called Spanners,he'll basically hang around port waiting to greet his Org members back from their space campaigns like the hero's they are secretly wishing for the day he becomes turret officer 2.

LOL I seem to recall reading something very similar to that on the forums of another popular space game.

I'm sure that their wooly statement which includes no specific information as to where they consider the line to be drawn (all stream-sniping? Some stream sniping? Persistently targeting the same player and if so how many times and in what circumstances? Etc.) will be just as effective. And God help them if they do actually take action against people with $100+ buy-ins based on an arbitrary and unpublished set of rules, with punishments doled out on the whim of the support person reviewing the case, rather than in accordance with some form of published table of penalties.

But you SDC boys don't need me to point any of that out obviously...

Poor implementation of the medical bed spawn points on the Carrack, Cutty red etc are causing some drama at the moment. There was a video a few pages back....namely ship jacker shoots pilot in the head after sneaking aboard, his matey boi hangs around the medbay and shoots pilot as he spawns in...ad infinitum. It's now so bad it's becoming a joke...that's not PvP, it's griefing in it's purest form, pure and simple and every former pad rammer and troll is taking a bite of it for the YouTube lulz.

The only option for the pilot in this case is to change servers since he can't select another spawn point, if he's running cargo, he'll probably lose it.

I dunno. It is just so poorly thought out. The carrack is the easiest ship in game to steal. Stealing ships in game is a thing. If I kill you to steal your ship and you've set your respawn point to the bed, what else is the ship stealer gonna do? Kill you again. The fact that everyone is stuck in that loop is nuts.

In a pre-alpha test environment in the very earliest stages with regular account wipes, no economy, and persistence barely even a gamete - a robust testing phase of collision dynamics and a thorough examination of all possible avatar termination events seems the best use of resources given that there are no gameplay aspects to currently explore.

Potter presumably? I noticed he was streaming on twitch recently, giggling uncontrollably while he shot a Carrack owner respawning over and over. After 10mins or so he and his chat realised the guy was actually away from his computer and wasn't actually attempting to stand up ... so he'd been giggling like a little girl griefing ... nobody at all.

Now that's funny.
