I like this quote. Not because they haven't implemented any of this, although that's valid, but the "first to make contact with an entirely new alien race" is just dreams.txt.

Reality: CIG add aliens with patch. Straight after patch someone will be the first to meet one. That's it. Nobody else gets a chance to be first.

Its in the video, it explains it quite well, did you watch it?
I am asking you, not the video: How do you think the information about players, or any other entity, moving between each quarter is handled?

You seem to be avoiding giving an answer. When that happens, that usually suggests you dont even understand your own example ;) .

The servers pass the relevant information to eachother.

Indeed, which means that when you move from one quarter to the next you need to wait for all the relevant information in each quarter/server to be transferred and then served to your client. In other words, your client loads a new instance.

Do you think each server is an Instance?

Like, if i'm in a common area, and i put down a cup, then that cup will magically appear for others in the same area but in a different instance? Which makes sense if you have instances and full persistence, but doesn't make sense from the point of view of things magically appearing.

In game ddos via coffee cups. Emergent gameplay!

🤷‍♂️ You can call it whatever you want. The essence of what is happening when you move between quarters in your example in terms of relevant assets and information for your client is no different than when any other game loads a new instance.

A new Instance is not the same instance you're in.

Indeed. When you change quarters you are in a new one. Your client has required to load new assets and information, and has deprecated the old assets and information in the previous quarter.

Depends on the narration. And how Aliens show for you. If you dint do story and no alien shows the you will discovert alien yourself.

How do you get from your instance to my instance?
I think it was you who described that in your example:
Now here is the fun part, lets say those 200 people all wanted to pile in to an 890 Jump, what would happen then is the 890 Jump gets split in to 4 servers, for arguments sake lets say 4 quarters, lets say the main lobby of the 890 is one server, there 40 people in it, lets say 30 people come out of their bedrooms, dining areas ecte... and move to the lobby, this is the point where now with 70 people on that server it will start to fall down.
