(If anyone's got some proper bling F8C content from the 2013-2014 period def lemme know! Not much on camera. Some fun comments on the old forums and that, and it was def common knowledge then that it would never be sold, but can't find CIG sources for the earliest days on either front really.)

Even a snapshot of its brief jaunt on the ship specs page would do. (Archive didn't catch it unfortunately). It certainly got quite the write-up at the time...

Designed as the next generation super space superiority fighter, particularly with fighting the Vanduul in mind, it is a more nimble, more heavily-armed fighter craft than its F7 predecessor. Discarding the second turret for more fixed weaponry, the Lightning is designed to take out any target that is in front of it - and it's easy to get a target in front of it.

Also Batgirl claims Ben underlined the 'no sale never' stance to her in one of their earliest interviews, but I'm damned if I can find it. (Or if I'm going to listen to any more minutia about ship purchasing...)
