The problem is they cannot deliver the SC MMO with all the milestones that they promised and are unable to fix some technical issues. We don't know if CR can stop his urge for feature creep or if SQ42 will sell enough copies.
Kinda out of the loop on SQ42, how far along is it exactly?

In October 2023 CIG said "As we move into the polishing phase, we’re fully focused on optimizing and fine-tuning all aspects of the gameplay experience to deliver an unprecedented cinematic adventure. To celebrate this milestone, we have gathered our core development leadership from around the globe to share what this means."
So it's been in the polishing phase since Q4 2023 lol.
Yeah, not sure what business credentials he has but he does not go into any level of detail at all. All he remarks is that he sees costs going up faster than revenues and that that is not goodStreamer looks at the financials - no great revelations, but Luke does have a business background and is a backer

Methinks the ScamEngine skin shader is good to get refactored for the nth time. So, looks like GTA6 is going to release before SQ42/SC.
It's much further ashort than along.Kinda out of the loop on SQ42, how far along is it exactly?

Well, he also says that the blog is not super clear. Which is a bit of an understatement![]()
This is a common issue with many ships that have elevators. And although the issue can be played around on other ships by taking alternative paths like ladders/stairs/ramps, it's particularly egregious on the Syulen, because that elevator is the only way to move through the ship.
It's quite a shame too, since the Syulen is otherwise a pretty great ship. But this bug is the main reason I chose to melt mine, since I couldn't do any planetside missions at all. It's sad to hear that it still hasn't been fixed![]()

Not that robust workhorses of the CIG fleet can't be in a state of rolling disrepair too
These pleas always get lots of upvotes shovelled onto them...

I dont know man...This post is much better: Cloud Imperium Games 2023 Financial Report: Breakdown
Why publish a false annual optional report? There’s no reward, backers don’t really care about it, investors won’t look at it because it’s not audited or detailed enough. So with that out of the way let’s begin...
I have removed the breakouts for salaries, other, contract, publishing, admin, and capex to focus on total...
As a person who has dealt with server code and has already made more than 5 projects (games), I have always said that server meshing is a fiction because it contradicts the basics. No matter how many servers you add (for location), in the end everything comes down to one database that is processed by one server. All your servers ultimately knock on one window. And if your database is overloaded, adding servers that will only increase the load on this database will not help you in any way. And I have been saying and writing this for more than 6 years. The fact is that synchronizing the work of this entire network of servers takes up more resources than adding a new server gives.
A secret that everyone knows except players and fans. Do you know why the flight speed was reduced? This allowed us to reduce the tick rate and the load on the main server, which allowed us to expand from 150 to 600 people. This is the whole reason for MASTER MOD! Reduce the tick rate and load.
Those who played EVE know that under heavy loads the speed of all players slows down (for them it looks like time dilation). For this task the master mod was made.
Hilarious amounts of 'Now CIG's never-before-done tech can spread!' in the comments.
And seemingly, one naysaying dev![]()
