Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

You keep holding up ship interiors like some magical talisman to ward off the evil nay sayers...do I need to point out that those magical ship interiors I've personally been walking up and down since 2015 in star citizen are just a series of completely functionless corridors inside a tube that mostly explode or that you randomly fall through when trying to interact with them?

Once again...in roughly 2 weeks when Starfield appears and has those pretty nicely detailed, fully interactive and customisable ship interiors all manned by fully interactive NPC crew members who more than likely won't be T-posing on the seats, your solitary magical star citizen talisman may well be pretty redundant
No you don't understand, Chris invented fps levels with SC :D

First time it was ever done. Ever. Yes.

That game did not have the most catastrophic netcode in gaming history (*) so when you shot that , it worked as intended (as shown in that GIF).
(*) and game code is notoriously bad, usually. CiG have outdone everyone else here.

Another day missed, another ten pages in the SC thread to catch up with! Is there something happening? Usually when we get a thread blowout like this something big is in the offing!
I go on holiday for a week and you guys write 20 pages.

Is Star Citizen released yet?

The main thing going on is just how ultra-salty the community has got in this pre-citcon lull. $25k backers angrily stomping out the door and such.

Here's today's example of: 'Things that wouldn't usually get up voted'

Although the white knights still sally forth. To varying degrees of success ;)

I think I'm going to take Little Ant's side for now on. reading those comments sounds way too much like a few voices here.

A decade of annoyance rarely sounds reasonable.

The form and flavour of this latest surge is still interesting though. Especially given how it currently tallies with a slowdown in funding etc.

And a general uptick in novel sales attempts by CIG (aimed across the spectrum of noobs, mid-range buyers, and whales). Which have provoked further community ire or cynicism on the whole.

None of this equates to '90 days tops'. (So siding with the extreme strawmen of white knights like Ant seems daft ;))

But it does suggest a challenge to CIG, given their expanding staffing and stonking burn rate.

For long-term SC watchers, this is just another tyre fire along the way. But it is burning a bit brighter than usual ;).

It will be interesting to see if CIG can drag public sentiment back to dreamland with Citizencon...

Like TV series where I give it 3 episode before deciding to go on or not, I'll wait another month to see if there's a trend. Wasn't last month the lowest sales for that period for a while?

FWIW, the past 3 months (May through July) have seen YoY reductions in sales revenue and new accounts, and April was also a reduction in sales revenue although new accounts saw a YoY increase. August looks to be continuing the trend.

Bethesda have shown around 11 seconds of any footage of zero G so far in all of the videos they've released to date...and like everyone else, you haven't actually experienced it yet to be able to pass judgement one way or another...I think you're just doing your usual and applying a bit of wishful thinking
I can be wrong.
But 11 seconds where up and down are perfectly aligned for every one and the room is strange for real zero G.
I don't think Bethesda had implemented the needed axis of rotation in its engine just for few missions.

Because it's the main reason why I play SC. Without ship interior, ED/NMS are a better choice.
Ship interior is not about corridors, but more about parking yourself your ground vehicle, managing boxes, inviting friends to roleplay, boarding and defending, etc. Parking my Roc in my ship is something I love to do during mining sessions.

I feel that this tells me quite a lot about why players play SC, genuinely. I don't get it - like I don't really get NMS - but each to his/her own. For me this game you describe just isn't all that interesting.

Even if it did work. :sneaky:

Thankfully SC has more rotation than any other space game!

PS is it me or is the avatar not entirelyyyy 'unified' across 1st and 3rd person...

(Looks like the arms with the multi-tool are an overlay in first person, with the body off doing its own thing on another axis etc)
