I can spin you a positive version. The story is all finished and he's no longer needed. However, I don't believe the story is all finished. More likely the story has been hacked to pieces, reworked, vandalised, brutalised, chopped in pieces and rearranged differently that noone has a clue what the vision is nor does anyone want to feel responsible anymore for the abused thing that is supposed to be a story.

That reads like there won't be an "Alpha 4.0", just them pushing straight into a Release 1.0...

They want an actual release so that they're officially done with the game - all it took for that desire was pledge-based funding to take a nosedive.
If CIG's going to tap out then this would be the best year for it; all the Verse-refugees can flow straight into Odyssey!

Further to this, a large contingent of the department is working on asset setup for lockers. These will allow players and NPCs to change their apparel to something more appropriate to their current priorities.

There is some good news though...

The team also kicked off initiatives to ensure the health of the build remains stable and triage technical debt built up over the course of the project.

Oh and talking of planning... plans for Planet Tech V5 :)

Last month, the Planet Tech team began improving the editor workflow for creating planets and planning out the next version of planet tech (v5). Planet Tech v5 will cover a variety of areas but the primary goals are to make creating planets quicker and easier and to try and achieve more diversity, density, and consistency in quality across whole planetary surfaces.


What they need is planning tech...
 

Updates were also made to the gym, including punch bags that now align perfectly and animate smoothly. They also reworked gym hours to be more balanced, so players will see the correct number of NPCs whenever they choose to visit. Plans for busier times were created too to ensure NPCs can always find a place to work out.

Trolly-pushing and cargo-handling animations were refined for added realism, while the security officer outside the bridge salutes players as they walk by.

And more twaddle.

Pfft, roadmap watchers slowing down development again.

Quick question for you my dear Agony...

Does waiting for the roadmap to a roadmap generate any noise, and if so do the peeps at CI-G answer the call, and will they hold the line if an urgent handbag purchase intervenes?

Also, if a handbag is used as a punch bag in SQ404, in zero gravity, which way does it hang, and is momentum conserved, and can we play Sataball with it?
