Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

It's still as awful as it was back in the first 0.8 version ever released (was it 0.8 ?)
This video made me dizzy, if I was a bystander, I'd say it's a video of a small FPV acrobatic drone from the future.
Doesn't look or feel like someone's operating a space ship...
I think the point shown in the vid was that a damaged wing makes the ship roll uncontrollably...if not corrected properly. Hard to do when flying M/KB rather than with a HOTAS since mousey players don't have analogue control over roll...merely a keyboard digital input, on or off.

Not offering up excuses here...just that I don't have the same weird uncontrollable rolls even with a damaged ship since I fly HOTAS.

About the actual overheating mechanic, CIG plan to separate it on 2 mechanics.
Capacitors will be for short management and overheating for long management.
Example : the afterburner at each usage will empty a capacitor (which refill) and add a little global heat. The overheat will only appear after several usage (too much global heat). The heating speed will also be affected by overclock and underclock.

And what year do they plan on implementing this, exactly? Early days, I know.

Implementation pipelines are currently in the grey-box stage and awaiting final polishing approval via a note from Genuine Roberts. Then the lore team can play through every implementation mission at tier-0, and then with a coordinated team effort several cards will be raised to push the rack to the fiber via the newly invented delta patch seaweed tech. This roadmap also includes Bartender AI pathing to acknowledge and identify the precise moments to apply for proper lubrication of the rack chassis and spot welder. Rails have been removed from this roadmap because they were needed back for SQ42 cutscene development to prop up the sandwurmie mocap.

Love it :D

Hacking CI¬G's zoom meetings is a serious cybercrime you know. They'll get you for that, if it's the last thing they doooooo!

I noted in the latest Star Citizen Live offering that Todd Papy dropped a mention of CR dropping the odd 'note' to the dev leads about how the development was going. Jared joked about CR referring to some dev manager in some department or other to fend it off...but CR dropping notes rather than micromanaging every minutae of his project?

Perfect for dev management from a Pacific Palisades mansion or a yacht on the Caribbean.

I'd like to think CR is going all Howard Hughes and turning into that guy in Creepshow.

"Yeah I have a note about that blue pixel."

Who am I kidding? I'M that guy right now. Not far from Pacific Palisades, too.

(goes back to staring at video feed for Amazon delivery)

Nice to see you're still the same 😂👍🏻

Damange effects are in? I remember CR saying damage will be realistic and show effects of hit components etc, so maybe I made that up?
I realized I got a ot of things confused between SC, Shroud of the Avatar, Chronicles of Erylia and a few games starting development at the same time.

You should stop taking drugs
7 months ago we were playing on the most unstable and bug fueled version of the alpha we have ever seen
We are currenlty on the most stable and feature filled version to date

We are moments away from 3.10 and it is absolutely loaded with massive sweeping changes, including a full flight model revamp thats got everyone singing
They have been patching the hell out of evo and ptu with changes and tweeks for months now
Development is firing on all cylinders despite global pandemics, lockdowns, riots and general mayhem
They are still smashing it

We haven't heard much from CR because he is flat out holding the reins (where he should be)
We hear from his team constantly, we hear about delays, events, new ideas, whats in and out of production, progress updates, etc

Just because the very specific thing you want to know or see is not ready or has not been addressed, doesn't mean the whole ship is sinking , get a grip

No other publisher ON THE PLANET is as transparent as CIG
Go to their youtube and scroll the full list of their videos
Sq42 might actually be out by the time you finish lol

No citcon is more likely a covid issue than a desire issue
That said, its honestly a good thing, the time and effort they spend putting on that show is better spent on development
They will still probably mark the occasion with something, a live stream, a Whitleys guide, a sale and a vid... who knows

Take a chill pill, let them work
Go blast some pirates or vanduul while you wait

Damage are in and constantly improved patch after patch. They are pretty impressives now. Damaged parts are also visible from inside the ships.

Inside big damaged ship, they are also effects like smoke, sparks, alert light, etc in rooms that aren't directly damaged

Damage can have effect (malfunction/broke) on each individual thruster and guns. Inside components can have malfunctions too.

WIP : CIG have started to work on fire propagation inside ship.
