Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Apparently ToW still not ready and don't expect it soon.

Info on latest calling all devs.

Summary on the refunds sub here: Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen_refunds/comments/n2cohk/tldw_on_the_new_calling_all_devs_theaters_of_war/

Also seen a summary on SA.

Apparently there was a comment that 30 FPS is enough... for a twitch based shooter mode. They should be laughed out of development for that comment.

LOL, how many times have we heard this?

Star Marine and Arena Commander say hello!

Pre-alpha? With fully modelled assets and fidelity being advertised as "playable now". (Ok, i guess he's talking about ToW specfically here, but they use the same line with SC).

LOL, good luck getting SC (or ToW) to run decently on a mid-spec machine.
When you're deep in your muddy lies you have no other option but digging deeper.

"Not a scam" but handled by crooks.

Dual Universe is doing it now.

So, they just bolt the Javelin model onto at existing asset to allow people to walk around it?

Backers are going to go lovingly ape over this. They will be primed for another ship sale.

The Javelin is the 2'nd largest flyable ship, or will be, its 480 Meters long, yes people are looking forward to looking around inside this thing.

So Invictus Week starts May 21st. After the debut of that other space game.
Some phone calls or emails between the relative management teams were exchanged maybe? The blissfully naive human being lost somewhere inside of me would like to think so... however unlikely it actually is. The obvious reality is that Ci¬G couldn't make yet another date that the marketing snakes had already jumped the gun and advertised :)

Meh, I just want the palaver over and done with so I can try out my new and shiny Hercs without free-fly newbies leaping around like easter bunnies all over the place...assuming Ci¬G have the starlifters ready to release with this patch. I suspect they'll be delayed until the tail end of 3.13.2 myself since all the vehicle teams will have been pressganged into fitting out the 480m long circlejerkmobile to please the mighty Roberts...call it a hunch :)

Yea, Starlifters are not coming in this patch, or so i hear, can't remember where from.

It's always a given that the entire development of Star Citizen, the game, comes to a grinding halt several times every year to waste development resources and time in preparing some pointless static event for yet another ship sale. Where would we be without predatory marketing strategies?...it was a rhetorical question, don't bother answering :)

ahhh, the guys who said CIG was gonna get destroyed by CryTek in the lawsuit. Really wanna here what they have to say.

on the dual universe subject though, them really under estimating how much servers would cost:

This is true, but, i do like the events like the Xeno Threat, there is another one planned for 3.13.X

Xenothreat was fine...disrupting development schedules and continually knocking back planned, releasable content simply to create an entirely false in game environment to host the inevitable ship sales every couple of months...not so much. It's a marketing event, not game development. What else has been delayed or cancelled to put on this perennial circus of farce once again...Orison? Crusader?... Pyro? Every conceivable development team has to be dragged into producing purely throw away assets for this nonsense, time and time again.

This marketing shyte should be confined to the RSi website where I would consider it appropriate, not shoehorned into the physical game to the detriment of everything else.

probably in here, but surprised you dont remember how excited forum members were over them

Oh I definitely remember lots of excitement also on reddit and what not. But I do not recall Tony´s stating a clear win for either party on the matter. I ll take a look.
